May not be on the 'urgent' list, but looks as if no decisions have yet been made over Ledleys continued career next season.

I was starting to think that his playing days were well and truly over a few games ago, until it emerged that he has been struggling on with further knee problems. As he is undoing surgery I suppose it is best to wait for the outcome of that before deciding.

Personally hope that the club keeps him on in some capacity, whether that be playing, coaching or some other role. He has been a great servant to the club and I think that his loyalty has a positive knock-on effect to the other players.

Overall this season he was his usual self up until the last few games he played, but I think he was struggling with his knee more so than usual and it affected his performances, we were short at the back and so Ledley had to play.

Remains to be seen what surgery will do and if he comes back fit, I think he will get a rolling 1 year contract until his time is up definitely as a player. Whatever happens, there should always be a role at Spurs for Ledders, he is a true Spurs legend.

agreed. Certainly a role within the club such as coaching, but his playing days need to end, for his own benefit. Will be very sad though, the day he does announce his retirement. :(

The club has to keep him on, but I think his time as a player is over, for his own good as much as anything.
He must be destroying his body.

I remember listening to him in an interview and he said he couldn't go out in the garden and have a kick about with his kids because of it. Dedication, I hope we offer him something

Great servant, great player. Sadly he is sicknote part II and I am sure he will retire at the end of the season.

Give him a new contract. Deserves one based on this season alone let alone the fact he's a legend. Bar his past 4/5 games, Ledley was as solid as ever. Perhaps he won't be a guaranteed starter but blimey, he's still better than a hell of a lot of defenders in this league.

Kaboul, Vertonghen (hopefully), Caulker, Dawson, King and if really needed, one of Gallas/ Nelsen/ Bassong.

Kaboul, Caulker, Dawson, Vertonghen, Gallas. That's enough surely, given 4 of them are the right side of 30.

You'd have Gallas over Ledley?

Gallas has done nothing this season to suggest he'd be worth keeping above Ledley. Granted he has a year left on his deal where as Ledley's will soon expire but he's played more and played better than Gallas in my opinion.

To be honest there is little difference between them in terms of performance. I just think Ledley is getting worse quicker. If the medics think he can give another years service at a Ledley level (and he is not crippling himself in the process) then Ledley all day long. I just suspect he has gone now, whereas Gallas hasn't.
