I'm can't understand where all these politicians throughout Europe think all those they withdraw citizenship from are going to go too. Are we just going to leave them in Syria for the Kurds to deal with, because they don't want them either, and under humanitarian rules they can't just be left to starve to death. After all Syria has enough of its only problems, with nearly 2 in 3 Syrians requiring humanitarian aid, surely the last thing the UN need is us dumping our criminals on them...

Pump out a few vote-winning headlines, hope they can bully some poorer country into having them and eventually quietly take them back when the public have something else to be outraged by.

I'm not even sure it's a good idea to have all of them in the same place. Probably won't end well.

Exactly, the political elite created this mess and really haven't thought this through. i know they want to send out a message, but it's not right we are dumping our problems on poorer countries.

It’s not like we haven’t seen what happens. Bomb the **** out of somewhere under the premise of regime change, topple the leader and ‘free’ the populous, then leave them in a political vacuum that allows extremists to flourish in a largely lawless and poverty stricken state. See Iraq for details.

I'm sure Assad will be able to use them in the future, there's a Country there that needs rebuilding civilly without 5th century barbarism and false dreams. I agree with you btw, the West has a lot to answer for in years gone by..<ok>

That was what was so ****ing infuriating about the Iraq invasion. Anybody with half a brain should have known that as soon as Saddam was taken down all hell would break lose between Sunni and Shia.

I worked with a Lebanese guy at the time and he couldn’t believe we were being that stupid and naive.

Love that riff..same chords just a completely different interpretation.

The solo is ****ing difficult. The way he bends the notes to get the exact sound he wants.

He is one of those extremely rare artists, that you only have to hear a few bars to know straight away who it is you're listening to; and that's despite the thousands of imitators who have tried for decades to copy his style.

Keith Moon and Ollie Reed in your avatar <ok>

Have you read Ollie's autobiography (Reed All About Me)? Celebrity memoirs are not really my thing, even footballer's ones; Oliver Reed's is a classic though.

Yes, that's them ok..<ok>

Ollie was a very good friend of mine, photographed him many times doing stills for production companies. Best drinking buddy you could get and a fan of my old boxing days..Ollie was in my eyes, one of the finest actors this Country has produced, he died happy and in love after many ****-ups..One more for the road Ollie and that twat over there wants to arm wrestle you .. <laugh>

In conversation with an Afghan mate when this was in its very early stages, and it was the very conversation we were having. There was never an exit strategy.

Given it was obvious to just about everyone, the bigger question is why those in charge pressed on.

Apart from his god given talent and ability, he had huge hands which effectively allowed him to do things most guitarists can’t do. For instance he could wrap his thumb right over the top of the neck and play one thing while the rest of his fingers did another. Some amazing sounds he could produce.

Like May, he kept the guitar pretty loosely strung, which makes bending the strings easier but you it also means you need to be highly adept at applying just the right amount of bend to get the right note.

What’s called a half bend raises or lowers the note by half a semitone, full bend a whole Semitone, and so on....
