It did. Saudi Arabia basically are 'the west' with their shared hatred of Iran with the US and procuring their arms from the UK and US. The only difference is that the UK and US armed ISIS indirectly through arming Syrian rebel groups, whereas the Saudis just armed and funded ISIS directly in their clamour to arm radical sunni groups.

And where did the Saudis get their arms from in the first place ?
