lets buy bournemouths whole defence that should get us up ! what a laugh eh bournemouth ? the only thing previous about bournemouth that springs to mind is leeds winning 0-1 at their ground and getting promotion from the old 2nd division . now bournemouth puts an end to parachute payments gets promotion , a small club like them making it to premier league without alot of money JUST ORGANISED DEFENDERS ! why cant leeds do that ? and bournemouth scored 95 goals to leeds pawltry 50 goals as i said on my previous reply when man utd knew they had a crap defence they knew that to qualify in 4th place they had to buy good quality strikers and the goals got them 4th place ! leeds can get promotion with an organised defence and more goals , when the championship play offs are over the teams that dont go up , why dont leeds look at their strikers and defenders and try and get them to leeds and off load the pile of crap in our defence.

When we have a coach who can't see the problems because of his obsessions, then there'll be repercussions; we have the players to fix the problems, but we need a coach who can recognise that.

 

And why would players that play for a team that made the play offs come to Leeds?

AND THE HISTORY ! and leeds have won things ! lets say that norwich go up in the play offs that leaves derby, ipswich , and middlesbrough now out of those 3 can you tell me what they have won ? answer 0 what history do they have ? answer 0 so to go to leeds 3 times winners of the top league , FA CUP , league cup , 2 times winners of the EUFA cup , FINAL OF european cup ( cheated out of that of course by a cheating referee ) 3 times semi final of european cup also NOW CAN YOU SEE WHY THEY WOULD WANT TO COME TO LEEDS ! AS AGAINST 0 where they are and they know LEEDS CAN ONLY GET STRONGER !

 

Get a grip. Modern day footballers couldnt give a rats arse about our history or anyones else. At this point the majority probably cant even remember when we were any good

 

But you are talking about history that only people in their 50's can remember. These players are in their 20's

Ipswich won the league in 1962 and the uefa cup in 1981 and if I am honest have a reputation for playing football the right way, even if old bent nose has them hoofing it at the minute.

 

Sniffer, very passionate but these days players go to whoever will pay them the most and secondly up and coming players these days only know us as a 2nd division team.

 

i think you would be suprised leeds still has a big name , we are still a global supported team and you only have to listen to like eddie gray on the radio (who will know more than us ) who often says well known players have wanted to come to leeds this season but possibly the style of play would not have fitted them in .
Also a few people on here have already said that leeds pay more than the average team in wages for players , and wether its history or not leeds winning things shows if we could do it then it can be done again and i have no doubt at all that at some point leeds will win things again !

Sadly we need to get in the real world. Bournemouth and Watford will get the pick of better players than us now they're premiership clubs. Eddie Gray can say whatever he likes, truth is we're a team that just finished 15th in the 2nd tier of English football, that doesn't attract top level players.

Anyway mate i know we finished 15th but i feel leeds will do better next season and that we have alot to look forward to we have young players , we know when coaching has the right people in place at elland road that leeds can go 5 matches winning on the trot , imagine next season if steve thompson is reinstated and redfearn is still in charge and we get in 2 good defenders from say derby and middlesbrough who dont make it in the play offs and daniel murphy of ipswich is signed to play for leeds what a side that would be for next season and i would forcast right now if all those things are done leeds would definately be in the play offs next season !
