Joking aside, their owners really know their football and have been successful in a few countries.

Well it certainly knocks the myth on the head where some believe only British owners, footballers and coaches are the only way forward

Nationality means nothing. Committed owners with ambition, funds and a willingness to invest, and good players from wherever gets you promoted.

Redders is crafty, he talks about the fans a lot "we owe the fans", "the fans deserve better", "we're playing for the fans", I think he knew what he was doing, and had an idea it would work.

The same thing happened with BM, he had the fans onside untill bad results started to turn the fans.

Exactly. He spent 50 quid on a drink for a fan and we were reminded for most of the season

its a mystery why or how bournemouth and watford can teach defenders how to defend but leeds cannot in fact this has been the problem at leeds now for about 5 years , you would think they would have solved it by now as i watch season after season how these pathetic smaller teams get promoted , ie hull , burnley , blackpool , crystal palace , now bournemouth, watford, leeds are not tough enough on players i dont think as other small teams are , we need 2 strong hard tackling defenders in the vinnie jones and norman hunter mould and a quality striker that scores regular , leeds have had numorous chances to buy even a striker such as david nugent,
here is a league of clubs spending over the last 5 years in the championship you will notice that 4 out of the top 5 spenders have been in the premier league in the last 5 years and that is also because they bought the right players IT IS ALSO EMBARASSING HOW NORWICH , CARDIFF , WOLVES, AND FULHAM SPENT MORE THAN LEEDS and how they managed to do it ?

The four clubs you say are embarrassing us by spending more all did so on parachute payments so that argument is irrelevant. As for Norman Hunter or Vinnie Jones mould, I agree but they come from a different era and a very different style of play. As for spending, wake up call, were virtually broke and have been for several seasons. If we were a racehorse we'd have been put down long ago. Any profits we ever make go towards feeding the vultures leaving nothing for team strengthening

Norwich, Bolton, Fulham, Wolves & Cardiff all on parachute money. Midds have a great owner and bits of parachute money, Derby had parachute money and Forest have new owners. The good stuff in the list was Bournmouth and Brentford not massive clubs with massive crowds just well managed, and obviously top coaching. Our big problem is the money our players get, when you think that the prat down at Ipswich is suing the club for £800k in a wages differential between his Ipswich wage and what he would have earned in 3-years at Leeds. Can you see Watford, Bournmouth, Brentford, players earning the same as our lads. Our lads need to understand that they are overpaid and need to get us promoted, because those high wages should mean guarantees

Bournemouth are owned by a Russian multimillionaire who likes to splash the cash on players............probably helps

Not in the grand scale of things, but they have for them, £2.3M for a striker is very big money for Bournemouth.

Weve had two managers in recent years that werent far from getting us up, Blackwell losing play off final and Larry a seventh place finish yet they were both derided by a large section of fans. It seems the only manager that will satisfy some Leeds supporter will be the one that leads the team to 100 points, scoring 5 in every game, playing fantastic football with two wingers all recruited from the academy and locked into ten year contracts
big money for us too. How often in last decade have we spent that kind of cash

it is relevant about the 4 clubs norwich ,cardiff, wolves and fulham these teams before they got promoted they did not have parachute payments but yet they got promoted while leeds still are treading water ! i remember norwich been in league 1 and got promoted at same time as leeds from league 1 but they got promoted out of championship without a parachute payment , so did cardiff , so did wolves, and so did fulham and they did that in part by getting their defence in order something that we seem unable to do ,1 point i do agree on that you brought up is about the vultures feeding on leeds on profits we get if any , this has been going on for years but i dont see it happening at many other clubs , i know it goes on but leeds directors seem to excell at it !! the worst one was risdale and haigh was another vulture, so can you explain why brentford and burnley can organise their defence but leeds cannot ?

But we've overpaid very average players, that's the difference. Why should we be paying 800k more than Ipswich over the course of a contract for the same player? Who the hell conducts the negotiations?

Leeds are not the only team though with defensive problems. We're finishing with nine or ten teams behind us. Incidentally I believe our defence has improved on recent seasons. I don't know how it can be improved further but then again neither do the vast majority of coaches either. Victimpool scored 55 goals less this season than last but despite having a fortune at his disposal, Rodgers couldn't compensate for the loss of Suarez

Thats true liverpool did suffer because of suarez departure and his goals , but what did liverpool do in buying players they bought balotelli who has failed and should be sold , borini has been useless and i feel sorry for lambert who clearly has not had a chance having been brought on in the last 3 miniuts of many matches . BUT this does not excuss liverpool look at man utd a useless defence but still end up in the top 4 thats because they bought the right players and liverpool did not , below is a list of players man utd brought in 2014-2015 season
Ander Herrera Ath Bilbao £29,000,000 26 Jun, 2014
    Luke Shaw Southampton £27,000,000 27 Jun, 2014
Andreas Pereira PSV Eindhoven Signed 01 Aug, 2014
Marcos Rojo Sporting Lisbon £16,000,000 20 Aug, 2014
Angel Di Maria Real Madrid £59,700,000 26 Aug, 2014
    Daley Blind Ajax £13,800,000 01 Sep, 2014
Victor Valdes Barcelona Free 08 Jan, 2015
    Total: £145,500,000
these are the player LIVERPOOL should have signed THE TRUTH is i dont think liverpool had the money and thats the reason why liverpool are now 5th and also rodgers making wrong decisions ! but back to leeds thats why leeds 15th and over the last 5 seasons they by coincidence have ended up been 15th in spending in the championship as you can see below

BUT I THINK it goes further than that with leeds they seem unable to cure the bad defensive errors that happen week in and week out YET they have had numorous chances to buy good defenders and WHAT has been happening to the coaching of defenders who keep on making defensive errors ? such as wooton ! hopefully with cellino having money and leeds having some good young players it might click but i feel leeds need 2 good hard tackling defenders and a very good striker WHO SCORES REGULAR ! AS OUT GOALS TALLY SCORED NEEDS IMPROVING AS DOES OUR DEFENCE ! THEN LEEDS WILL HAVE A CHANCE OF GOING UP TO THE PROMISED LAND ! PREMIER LEAGUE !

The thing is though sniffer we don't really buy anyone and haven't in yonks. Our signings are either players no one else wants or unheard of ones. Until we get to the point where we can identify a quality signing and beat off opposition to get them then we're not going to progress. We're well able to get millions for players but never spend it cos there's always an owner that has run off with it in his arse pocket

true but i actually think cellino has put his own money in , but i think if there is a genuine chance of red bull coming in then leeds should grab it as this is a normal company
