Saints fan living in Portsmouth has to travel to southampton to get a coach to the game in Portsmouth, to then get the coach back to Southampton after the game to have travel home to Portsmouth.

And vice versa obviously.

 

I forgot they bubble matches, forgot that was even the term for it tbh.

 

It's always been the same for away fans, just a policing strategy to try and keep them all together and away from the home fans.

I remember getting locked in at Selhurst Park for around 2 hours at Arsenal away to Palace. I only lived around 25 mins up the road on the bus too

 

No it hasn't this is different, you HAVE to buy a coach ticket to get a match ticket. You do not get your match ticket until you are on the coach on the way to the game.

No other method of transport is allowed, think there's 3/4 games in England/Wales that have it.

 

We ain't got no rivals so we don't get bubbled. Although it normally kicks off between us and Charlton or Swindon, sometimes Wall.

Swindon game actually nearly got called off one season, because Scally wouldn't pay for extra policing (according to reports at the time).

Before the days of bubble I always remember when they used to herd you into a cage at the end of a game at the old den.

 

Yeah that's what I'm talking about. Getting locked into a pen for 2 hours whilst the police tried to disperse the home fans.

Nothing these days mate, Wall of old was a world apart, you needed to have your wits about yer.

 

Swindon of old was one of the most hostile places, them kunts hated us back then, i remember getting surrounded by fooking dozens of the fookers one time after they got into our end. I just thought fook it, come on then lads...it was like WHAT! Fookers weren't expecting us to fight back Next minute all the old bill piled in. Must admit i was pretty relieved tbh.

 

I used to have to get the train home to Lewisham from London Bridge, and loads of Millwall would get on the train at New Cross. You'd have Arsenal, West Ham, and a smattering of Chelsea, Spurs on those trains going out to the Kentish suburbs. With a mixture of Millwall, Charlton and Palace fans who'd all get on around the same stops.

I remember getting lumped by some horrible Millwall thug once, just for wearing my colours. I was only around 14 at the time too. I ran to the other end of the carriage and plotted to jump the **** to my mates, knowing I was going to stay put.
