Depends on what they were given which would be a minimum of 15% and they’ll have sold it. And yeah I take your point but I imagine all the plastics would have came out for Arsenal.
With 3,777 home fans present, added to Arsenal's 5,218, Bloomfield Road was half-empty as Unai Emery's side easily moved a step closer to adding to their record 13 FA Cup trophies.
Any team can only sell what the allocation is though surely. Arsenal are capable of taking 7k or 8k to Blackpool. Maybe not a team like City but Arsenal would.
Tbh mate i don't have a lot of sympathy for Blackpool supporters, they were all happy when they were wearing their Wonga shirts. They get about 4k attendances now, back where they belong now all the plastics have left. Some protester claimed to me that they were the real supporters now, so i replied so what you fooking moaning about then, you are back where you started.
Holloway made that club unlikable for me, I couldn’t stand his ‘Little old Blackpool’ press conferences. I was buzzing when we relegated them and celebrated our record 19th title in front of them as they all cried that day.
So why would a league1 club be offered nearly 3k more tickets a few days beforehand? Like @brb hit on yesterday, clubs are missing a trick somewhere to earn a few extra quid from ticket sales, by offering small amounts, or did they/
Maybe because the FA Cup has a cap, or maybe because like Liebs said they thought the locals would come to see the Arsenal. Let’s be honest, there was no way casual Blackpool fans were turning up to see Sunderland is there?
He threw a wobbler when we sang premier league you're having a laugh after knocking them out as a league one side. Moany little weasel.
Still doesn't answer why the difference between league and cup game allocations, when the ground is empty as home fans ain't going.. Clubs can apply for more.
You're right some probably are missing a trick, sometimes it's blocked for other reasons too such as they might not want that many travelling up on a normal Saturday evening ko as a bank holiday. There's probably loads of **** we don't hear about that influence these things but I'm sure Arsenal would have sold whatever they got.
Some clubs are better at that than others though, plenty don't give a **** about the fans especially the away who don't bring the money in. Know we make a few **** decisions allocation wise too.
Cup receipts are are a 45% / 45% split i believe with 10% going to the FA. Minus certain costs, ie for the away side. Hence why sometimes it don't pay financially to have a home tie. For example Woking v Watford, it would be far more financially viable if it was the reverse fixture. However, it's about bringing supporters through your own turnstiles and you are much more likely to get the next generation from a home tie.
I don’t know the ins and outs of who gets allocated what tickets at Blackpool so no point guessing but Arsenal ain’t a club who can’t compete with Sunderland no matter which way you look at it. Their fans are boring for sure but they have plenty of them and they follow them everywhere.
