Well done Grant McCann. May you win it every month for the rest of the season, regardless of tactics.
I’ve criticised McCann so much, that even my phone wants to put McCant. However, he’s still here, even though he really shouldn’t be. It’s similar to Terry Dolan, should have gone, didn’t, challenged for promotion, fail, then relegated. McCann is still the manager, nothing is going to change on that
Let's hope he doesn't achieve an automatic promotion slot you would have nothing to moan about or it would go something like this " any other manager with our squad would have done it twice as quick " lol you moaning buggers.
I’d give him credit, it doesn’t change anything though. I expect promotion this season as a minimum given our squad, if we don’t achieve that, then it’s a failure.
Yes. As OLM said, he’s the reason we’re here in the first place. We have a wage budget bigger than most in this division, we’ve got better and more experienced players at a higher level and strength in depth. So yes apologies, mid table should definitely be the expectation.
So the players, most of whom have since left, bear absolutely no responsibility for last year's debacle?None of them responsible for the humiliation after downing tools? What about the sale of Bowen and Grosicki?,perfect opportunity for you to spew forth more anti-Allam bile but no it's all McCanns fault and he's obliged to fix it because he caused it? You couldn't even lower yourself to congratulate him on his manager of the Month Award for January. You made a far better case for Doncaster Rovers manager and how he should've won it!!
You've said it yourself, time after time,we don't have a striker. We've got a couple of cart horses that would struggle to hit a barn door with a banjo. Which better and more experienced players at a higher level are you referring to? As for the wage budget? What is our budget in comparison to other Clubs?
Third place don't go up automatically, oddly enough your prediction early this season was for City to finish in third place. A third place finish was your expectation, and the one that's thanked you here predicted between 12th and 15th, you both should be fairly content.
The salary cap was set at £2.5m and as of January Grant said we were very close to the top of it, I wouldn't have thought many clubs would be able to say the same. As for more experience, Magennis, Burke, Smallwood, Docherty, KLP, Long, Coyle, Clark...they've all played plenty of games higher than League One. There's probably more but I'm watching the game.
I did predict that, but I was asked where we would finish and I stand by that. I don't think we're consistent enough to go up automatically. I expect promotion, I didn't say we'd certainly get it. If anything, I predicted exactly what's happening now, which is that we'd flirt with promotion fall away and chance it in the playoffs. As it stands now, I can't see us winning them.
Docherty? You continually mock Scottish Football, likening it to the Northern Premier League,he was a Glasgow Rangers off cast who had no chance of getting a game at Ibrox!! I knew he'd do well for us and said so.KLP?He's ours and got a few run outs and cameo's last season....Budget wise, get me the figures when/if you can/want? As I'm interested in your original claim that our budget was 'Bigger than most in the division'?
We won't find out this seasons wage bill until the accounts come out in September/October and neither do any other clubs, so quite obviously nobody can give you the figures. But we're one of the relegated clubs and are quite obviously going to have one of the highest wage bills.
I don’t mock Scottish football, I’m one of the few who think it’s a much better standard than some think. Look at the clubs in the division. You think the likes of Rochdale, Wimbledon and Accrington are running a wage bill knocking on for £2.5m?
