Our home game against Fleetwood Town, scheduled for Saturday 26th March, has been brought forward to Tuesday 15th March, k.o. 7.45pm. #WYCvFLE
Why, that is unusual to have a Saturday Fixture bought forward I know it's probably another International break, we only really have Kaikai I wouldn't have thought Fleetwood have that many Internationals playing for them
Crikey I was only 1 point out in March Hope I'm not so accurate for April, else we will only have 75 points
English League 1 - To Make The Playoffs Betting Odds Just about sums it up I suppose We could be lucky with the run-in as we have just the 2 play-off contender (Plymouth & Sheff W) to play, with the other games against bottom half teams.. But we will need to win all the others and grab a point against Plymouth & Sheff W. Not impossible but a big ask
With 10 teams still in the hunt for promotion auto or playoffs there are some interesting "6 pointers" in April look how many times some teams name crops up 2th Plymouth v Oxford 9th Oxford v Sunderland 12th Portsmouth v Rotherham 16th Wycombe v Plymouth Rotherham v Ipswich MK v Sheff Wed 18th Plymouth v Sunderland 19th Ipswich v Wigan Oxford v MK 23rd Rotherham v Oxford Wigan v Plymouth Wycombe v Sheff Wed 26th Portsmouth v Wigan Sunderland v Rotherham 30th Plymouth v MK Sheff Wed v Portsmouth
Plymouth 5 Oxford 4 Rotherham 4 Sunderland 3 Portsmouth 3 MK Dons 3 Sheff W 3 Wycombe 2 Ipswich 2 Wigan 2
Even if (& a big if) we win all of our games wew could even struggle to catch Sheff Wed with them now 3pts & 8 goals in front of us. & I think you can discount Pompey, & us overtaking the top four I think you can discount as well. If Oxford go & win at Plymouth on Saturday that is not going to do us any good at all.
Wigan look the most certain for auto with Rotherham beginning to look vulnerable to a late challenge from MK Dons. These 3 look certainties for the top 3 with 7 teams fighting for 3 places. I have a feeling that Ipswich are coming good at the right time and will be in the play-offs. If so that leaves 6 fighting for the other 2 places: Plymouth (74,6) Oxford (69,7) Sunderland (67,7) Portsmouth (59,8) Sheff W (69,7) Wycombe (66,7) Looking at that Portsmouth have it all to do. Although I fancy Ipswich they could be put out of contention with a slip up. Plymouth have the points in the bag but have the toughest run-in. Compared to Wycombe though they can afford to lose a couple of games more than us and the play-offs are theirs to lose Unless we find a banana skin in our next 3 games, our match against Plymouth will leave us with a pretty good idea of whether we still have a chance
If we were to win all of our remaining matches (which wouldn't be far off a miracle): Sheff W would have to win all of their other 6 games, including against MK Dons Oxford would have to win all their 7 games, including against Plymouth, Sunderland, Rotherham and MK Dons Sunderland would have to win at least 6 and not lose the other one, including against Oxford, Plymouth and Rotherham Ipswich and Portsmouth could not finish above us So I think, in the unlikely scenario of us winning all 7 games we would almost certainly get into the play-offs Just don't ****ing lose to Crewe and/or Doncaster
Exciting int it..........Tell you what Ron I'm fed up with working out all the what ifs and possibles and have resigned myself to just waiting and seeing whatever happens. However it turns out I still think we will have had a decent season and in a normal year the points we have right now would have been enough to get a play off spot. This season is just plain barmy.
I would agree with that, we wouldn't have been the first club to get relegated then follow it next season with another bad season
I’m happy with the season even if we fail to reach the playoffs. Going toe to toe at the top of league 1 is a great place to be. Big games every week, chance of championship football and very low chance we will be relegated.
Impossible CW, even if we lost all remaining games and had a 12 point deduction; and even then, only if Wimbledon won all their games
Sorry I wasn’t clear, I meant I’m happy with this season. PLUS happy with being a top end league 1 team for the foreseeable future. I wouldn’t mind being a Rotherham type team, in that we yo-yo from championship to league one. One season we win loads the next it’s the excitement of playing massive games every week. Anyway, winning most weeks in league one is a far cry from losing most games in league 2.
