A bit of a slip by glenn in the write up ahead of our game.

Boro sit third in the table and have not lost a league game at the Lamex Stadium this season.

I thought we were playing Stevenage, that Borough are a league above is and play at the riverside.

Their official name was Stevenage Borough and they indeed play at the Lamex where they haven't lost so far this season.

Plus they’ve only conceded two goals at home. It’ll be a tough game for sure.

The point is, whilst we have not got all the same players as last season (thank God) as the pundits allude, the players BBM is using this season were at the club last season - just not utilised by the encumbent managers at the time.

My major point is we're top of League One with existing players at the club last season, and apart from Trott, have not splashed out millions to get there.

I can't remember how much Brum forked out last year to get there, but I know they shelled out about £15M for Stansfield for a start. I can't recall the others but they spent big time.

To be fair it worked and they stormed the Division - if we can do it our way then that's a far greater achievement.

EDIT........just checked on Transfermarkt for that total Brum spend for the start of last season - it was £31M - that's a lot of dosh for a League One club to fork out.
Out of idle curiosity, had a look at our current squad and the number of games they played last year and this.

13 of the current squad played 10 or more games for us last season. To be fair, nearly all played over 20, most over 30. I excluded those out on loan.
7 of the 13 from last season have played 10 or more games so far this season. Alnwick has played 0.
3 players with more than 10 appearances this year were u21s last season.

Pleasingly, 7 of last night's squad came through our accadamy.:emoticon-0137-clapp

As you rightly say, a different situation from Brum.

Kpakio getting noticed.

Teenage Cardiff right-back Ronan Kpakio has been nominated for November's League One Player of the Month award.

Wigan equalise against udders. Helps keep one of the chasing pack at arms length.
Ditto for Mansfield holding Wimbledon.

This really is a crucial period if we want to be in a relatively comfortable position come the new year.

Only one team in the top half lost today..
Can’t seem to shake off the chasing pack
Stockport, who played Stevenage.
When they play each other, one or both will drop points. There will be more of that. All we can do is keep grinding out results.
Theres a bunch of teams 6 or 7 points behind us, then it opens up.
6 points above 3rd, 12 above 7th. Not too shabby.
I was hoping to be in the top 6 come christmas, so delighted with where we are.
