I think there's a difference. Too tired to get it across tonight- maybe tomorrow. Suarez sets out to wind everybody up- Costa deliberately tries to injure people. Not the same in my book.
Need to see the Costa incidents again to give a proper analysis. To my knowledge/memory Suarez never stamped or acted like a thug, don't know where insults and biting falls into this. Maybe you need a little Costa Coffee to boost your caffeine/energy levels. Ba dum tish
Costa is a dirty annoying player. He is every bit as nasty as suarez though. You would be wetting yourself if you had Costa. Suarez didn't try to injure people? That's before we even get onto Suarez and his THREE biting convictions. Let's not pretend Suarez wasn't as bad as Costa because he is. Kudos for MITO and RedLadllana for calling things for what they are.
I'm Not to bothered given the reality.... I just scooped up a big bonus in the prediction league I'm far more worried about sahko than I am this cup as we are boned if he is out for 2/3 months here Can and markovic were good, henderson and lucas were workers and that all good til they have to do something with the ball as you could see when chelsea let them have it Coutinho was brilliant but lacks the pace of hazard to make him really scary to anyone, sterling has the pace but is still childish and really not positive and decisive when his chance comes... Put it this way he is no michael Owen let alone hazard. Lfc have decent players and a manager who found a way of playing and that's good cos it's good to watch but it is not a side to expect much success out of so 4th IMO will be gone after next 5 league games and the fa cup is really down to luck and fight... I cannot see us put the fight up at palace like we did yesterday
But that is one of Rodgers management techniques. He did it with Borini who he signed first, did it with Migs, who he again signed. I never wanted Balotelli but again done it with him. He has fallen out with Sakho and there seemed a rift with Suso. There has been some fall out with Gerrard but not public. Ive complained before about Rodgers washing this clubs laundry in public. This is not the way we have done business in the past.
Post Office have now issued an official stamp to commemorate last night's game please log in to view this image
Yeah I have to accept that but like I said earlier Rodgers is proving me wrong at the moment. I understand that people are pissed off I just think some of the comments are a bit harsh considering our recent performances and the performances against Chelsea.
I felt that Rodgers got his substitutions all wrong in the 2nd half and I'm still skeptical about his ability to change a game that's turning against him. All in all though, I was pleased with how well we played last night - Normally we are physically a bunch of wimps, but I felt that we gave as good as we got last night, with the exception of Costa's stamps. If we play like that against West Ham we will stand a good chance of beating them
It would have been brilliant to have gone to the final but some fans are getting angry over nothing IMO. Without a striker (our own making) we forced Chelsea to re think their strategy. When you see Mourinho dropping Cahill for Zouma you know that how we play definitely changed his mind. A few months ago, Chelsea came to Anfield and were very comfortable in their victory. This time round we pushed them all the way and it is unfortunate that the quality of chances we created required a better forward and we would be discussing the final. The fact of the matter is we needed to score a goal irrespective of Ivanovic's winner. Even if the game stayed at 1-1 aggregate we were still not going to go through. My expectation is come the summer we should go all out for a world class forward splash it on Lacazzette or whoever is banging them in. No more Balottelis and Lamberts please.
Actually i don't agree. zouma is not a patch on cahill and he was put in for a rest of cahill... zouma should have been punished by raheem but as usual when the boy finds himself in there he is like adeer in headlights sometimes... he just hasn't the instinct to just go go go and kill. another time coutinho and him were o nthe break and he basically ran in front of coutinho denying him space and was waiting for coutinho do do something to react.... even if you are not a striker when you are on a break you should know to at the very least make a positive move to even draw a defender and allow the guy on the ball space. Yes by all means buy a forward but they can't be just a no 9. and the reality is we have 3... who are useless but still... we have three who must be culled before one is added... It is crazy thinking we bought badontelly. crazy... it is still IMO a sackable offense and miy signature says it all on rodgers.
I'm not a Balotelli fan but I do think he gets a lot stick which is unwarranted. Having said that - he can only be effective if there is a proper striker on the pitch. If not, people will assume that he is the striker but he simply isn't it - it's not his game and never has been. The committee picked a partner for Sturridge in the summer which was the wrong strategy - they needed another focal point up top. To be honest, everything Mario does will be criticised so it's best to get rid asap and eliminate the 'circus' around him. He was harshly criticised for the goal - firstly,we defend using zonal marking and ended up tracking Costa. Secondly - why the hell did he have 2 people on him? Apparently Sakho injured his back in the warm up and took an injection. Hopefully it's not too serious.
I actually think that Balotelli's hold up play has been good at times this season but since the rest of the team's style of play doesn't suit a targetman, he's inveitably been ineffective. Balotelli was at fault for the goal but any player in the exact same position could have made the same mistake (god knows Johnson and Lovren have plenty of times) and that's more down to poor organisation more than anything else, which has often been our downfall this season.
Agreed - the way he can control a high ball is remarkable at times. The target man role is only useful if he has someone like Sturridge next to him. At the moment, he's useless.
Mario just simply isn't made to play our style. He's a big guy and quite powerful (on his day). He holds up play and likes the ball to his feet, which means that either: 1) It gets played to his feet and he slows the game to a halt as he tries to pull of a stupid trick or pot shot 2) it gets played to where he should be running to, and he doesn't run there It's been 5 months now and he looks poorer with every game. I can't see a miraculous turnaround to be honest.
I also think that it's not a coincidence that Coutinho looks world class now that he has a striker that moves around and likes to get involved in interchanges in front of him. I vividly remember the wimbledon game where he was forced to pass sideways or shoot on sight because there was no movement from Lambert in front of him.
Is right. They were both running in treacle in ET. A fact proven by the lazy Lucas challenge that lead to the goal and should have seen him pick up a 2nd yellow.
Exactly. I think we all expected him to push on this season - after a slow start in a terrible system, he's really coming into his own. The way he shrugged off Fabregas and Matic at times was a joy to watch.
