To be fair, that's the kind of game we could have quite easily have lost in recent years! Northampton.. Mansfield.... Even burnley a few years back I think? Havant and Waterloovile.. We love making hard work of getting through against lower league teams!

Dominated, they had no chances, mane was best player on pitch, his pace just did everyone when he got the ball. A very professional performance and took the chances when they came.

Burnley knew exactly how to play us and getting an early goal meant they could just shut us out because we are clueless when it comes to breaking down a solid defence. Burton played a more open game and we just walked through them.

Probably as there wasn't a convenient scapegoat of a female club doctor to blame it on.

As far as CB partnerships go I wouldn't mind seeing Matip & Klavan.

You say 'only' Burton but to get back to back promotions and seem steady in the Championship they're clearly a decent team <ok>

Although they did look poor last night!

    On the only Burton thing
WBA and Watford both went out to teams a division lower.

More important comment about the Burton game is they played in an open style and we can rip anyone a new given space.

Look what other clubs so and how they take things seriously or not are nothing to do with what we did.

Burton left so much space is was ridiculous last night. It left us with a nice handy tie and it was a procession really. I enjoyed it. Mane clearly is our best player and takes over from suarez as we've not had a good un since him IMO. (sorry coutinho but i'm sick of you vanishing for 180mins then popping up with one shot that actually goes on target mate)

Its nice to have a player to get behind and be genuinely excited about seeing play.

I agree MITO, Mane is an exciting player and its nice to have someone who receives the ball and there immediate thought is to take a risk and commit a defender or make something happen.. He is wicked fast with bags of ability too, he's a huge signing. Just hope Matip can stamp his authority in defence, and Can comes in for Henderson then we have a half functioning team with the obvious gaping holes

Yes I really hope matip can be fit and stay fit.

The team spine should be (if mane is playing free like he look to be)

    Karius
    Matip
    Can
    Mane
    Origi

    all 25 or under.

Put clyne who's half decent when playing with mane in there and "new owners" :banidt: only need to get us 3/4 top quality players in.

If you think about it Hector for 25mil and dahoud for and other 30 odd would have been really nice.

    Karius
    clyne Matip Lovern hector
    Can Dahoud Wijnaldom
    Mane Origi Coutinho

Its not meant to be though so we have to endure lallana and moreno for another season.

well they are mid table at best or more likely very much lower half and it showed. No disrespect to them but they are a club who have got very high very quick and just surviving this season in the championship will be a big achievement.

So, like me, you don't think everyone excelled but you don't like my footballing observations on where we still need to improve? (Apparently it's moaning). Am at a loss as to what else you do on a football forum. Enlighten me <magic>

    Anyone getting married? <laugh>

I'm sure it'll be a good day. The food might be ****, the cake disgusting, fights on the dance floor and the bride buggered off with the best man for a couple of hours. But the objective was to get married and so he did. Why moan about the rest? <laugh>

People shift their opinion too often, I can only pray that Karius and Matip are going to be consistent and people are not going
to crucify them if they make some basic mistakes. It takes time for defensive partners to gel properly. Good luck to them if
they are the chosen one by Klopp.
