Without rooney or van persie it doesn't look half as threatening a tie as it could be. Great opportunity to go there with nothing to lose and give them a game, why not?
All Carrabuh said was that MU were nothing special. In other words, we have nothing to fear and we should go into the game thinking we can beat them. NCGandy, your favourite complaint against us 'Hughton sceptics' is that we are negative. So who's being negative now?
VC, I like you (in a we're all NCFC fans kind of way) and respect your posts, negative or otherwise. Carrabuh didn't mean that at all, and you know it. Stick up for him all you like, I don't care, but I'll continue to question his motives.
This isn't a WUM, I promise. Why do you think he had a hidden meaning? And what do you think it was? I genuinely don't understand.
OK, but I basically agree that MU are probably nothing special compared to the past. Old Purple Nose was worth at least a dozen points a season in my opinion, and Moyes just doesn't look the same class. Actually, in many ways Moyes reminds me of CH. He doesn't take risks and that holds him back. Don't get me wrong - he's done a great job at Everton - but I doubt very much if he can operate at one level higher.
Also, has anyone noticed how strong the line-up is this year? Thirteen Premiership sides left, and just three Championship clubs. No Bradford this year, for sure.
The top teams are not messing around this year and there haven't been any inspired performances from the lower leagues clubs. Birmingham are the closest to an upset at the moment. I can see Burnley beating West Ham and Leicester could put in a good performance against Fulham. Those clubs have actually probably got the best draws given the circumstances. Gives them all a chance to get through against mid-to-low table Prem teams.
