In my book leadership is defined by 5 big areas. So how does our Chairman measure up?:-
Getting every single person in the business united behind a common purpose:
From a fragmented dressing room, through demoralised back room staff and clueless marketing people the club we love has been split and torn apart.
Effectively managing your stakeholders:
Disenfranchising your supporters, some with a lifetime love of their club, turfing sports clubs out of the Arena, daggers drawn with the council, loathed by the Football Supporters Federation, FA and probably the Premier League. Is there a stakeholder we haven't pissed off?
Establishing financial rigour:
There is no denying that the Allams have put money into the club, but look at us today, £65m owed to the Allams, £30m or so net outstanding on transfer fees. Next season's parachute payment could well be nearly all swallowed up with transfer payments due from last summer.
Ensuring you have the right talent in place:
The Assistant Manager is offered better terms by a Championship club, the analyst gets headhunted by Manchester City and the Fitness Coach is offered better terms by Huddersbloodyfield. Our fitness this season has been run by the same man who ran it at Sunderland for Steve Bruce, and they also had a season blighted by injuries that year, coincidence or what? And don't get me started on the others.
Building reputation in the industry and market place:
Well, do I need to go into that one? The only thing that we can take an pride in is that real football clubs recognise what a great supporter base we have got. Funnily enough the thing our owners call irrelevant.

How's that for a CV then?
