Whereas all you scotch have a wee cough, I've a week off. Am staying in a cottage in Herefordshire. Done a bit of metal detecting. Went to Hay-on-Wye yesterday, looks like the yuppies have taken over since I was last there 20 years ago, got a bit sunburnt. Going into yaki da country today. Brought my laptop so I can keep an eye on my spread bets and stuff.

Favourite soft drink: a cup of tea, though I think you mean cold soft drink in which case: supermarket own brand long-life mixed tropical fruit juice.

I've always fancied trying my hand at the old metal detecting. Have you had any exciting 'finds', stopme?

Did an hour or so this morning, found 1p and a toy car. I'll find some good stuff when I get back out in the fields particularly the Roman site I discovered. Check my sig for the finds I've registered though I've got loads more waiting to be given to the archaeologists.

Better freshen up then we're off to Abergavenny for lunch and a look round the antiques market.

    Only ones made of metal.

Digging up fields around Hereford is a risky business, the ****s at the barracks bury all sorts of dodgy explosive stuff.
