England won the World Cup 51 years ago. Sgt Pepper was released 50 years ago. The Clash released their 1st album 40 years ago. And England regained the ashes from a long dominant Oz a mere 12 years ago. Anthony Joshua became heavyweight champion of the world this year.

Or maybe it's just Scotland that's acheived nothing of note since Celtic won the European Cup on black and white telly.

Le Pen still managed to get 10.5 Million votes, which must be quite concerning, quoting media tags...a right wing party. To put that into some sort of context, that is around 50% more votes than Ireland, Wales and Scotland combined mustered for both sides of the vote!

This is not over by any stretch of the imagination, the only thing that held the vote together this time is that in France the lessons were learned from Brexit and the youngsters got off their backsides.

All you need over the next 4-5 years is for the immigration crisis to worsen, a few more backpackers exploding, crazy lorry drivers, or someone with a gun, and those opinions could soon change. Even more if Brexit is pulled off to a positive affect in the UK over that same period.

So before you start taking the piss Archers, over 27 Million people have stood together over Frexit/Brexit between our two Nations, and although a smaller number compared to the other side, we (Brexiters) are the more stronger, commited people to the cause, whereas half your lot cannot even be asked to vote, and probably still wouldn't get off their lazy arses.

Macron is going to need a miracle and a few prays in hoping that not too many more jump over the Belgium borders wishing them harm, because public backing can soon become very fickle.

So come back in 5 years and take the piss then <ok>

Do you have to work hard to miss the point like that, or does it come naturally to you?

European tribes and nations have been continually at war with each other for at least 2000 years. Probably longer, but that is all the recorded history we have to go on.

There has been no war between member states of the EU at all, none.

The point of these observations is to illustrate the point that a united Europe with a common purpose is more peaceful than a divided group of competing nations.

There have been acts of terrorism throughout Europe's history.This century is an alphabet soup featuring the Baader Meinhof gang, Red Army Faction, ETA, IRA, Red Brigade, Angry Brigade etc.

The point of that last observation is to illustrate to little Englanders ****ing themselves into a frenzy over Isis, that moslemic nutters did not invent terrorism.

Seperate issues really, though related. Try not to be so easily confused.

What I find strange is you use history to make a point while in the same breath are denying history, to protect the EU's squeaky clean image...I call bullshit.

Once again - the history of Europe is a history of warfare between nations.

During the brief history of the EU, there have been no incidents of war between member states.

Wtf is your point about the IRA not existing? I mentioned the IRA in the post you quoted, whilst making a point about terrorism.

What colour is the sky in that world you live in?

I don't deny that there are indeed an awful lot of utter ****ing racist spanners in France. Why don't you go and join them?

In fact I had some run ins with French skinheads around Narbonne and Perpignan back in the 80's when I was working down there - they'd have ****ing loved you. Most of them are repressed homos I think, & partial to a bit of "rosbif".

Getting machine gunned down at a concert or sitting in the street eating a croissants is part and parcel of living in a big city.
Complaining about it is offensive to Muslim fanatics that simply have different customs to the French .
As you quite rightly say it is racist, just learn how to duck out of the way of the bullets and stop moaning French people.

Where did I say that? Simply pointing out that terrorism is nothing new and certainly wasn't invented by Isis. Don't you remember when the IRA bombed Wood Green High Road and The Archway Roundabout? That was a bit ****ing close to home but I don't recall anyone wanting to ban Guinness or The Pogues, which admittedly are preferable to Shisha pipes and Hijabs, but still.

A sense of perspective is called for. Islamic terrorism is not an existential threat to our way of life.
