Chances are that Jaguar in the near future will make another attempt at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The Indian owners of the British brand, Ratan Tata and the bosses of Tata Motors have already decided in principle the challenge.

However it is unclear when a new LMP1 Jaguar car will be developed.

A spokesman for the British brand said: "our racing developments are running fast." Jaguar has won the Le Mans seven times. The last victory dates back to 1990.

Aww sweet! I had high hopes for Aston Martin with their foray into LMP1 but they seem to have stalled somewhat in their progress.

It is a different ball game altogether from 10 years ago and to topple the likes of Audi is going to require serious work and investment from Jaguar, just ask Peugeot. A bit more diversity in LMP1 can only be a good thing. The Lola chassis is too widespread IMO

personally I wish they went back to souped up road cars. They looked like they were going to go back that way, then the manufacturers started threating to withdraw if protoypes werent allowed. :(

I want supercars forget the LMP1 they are boring rubbish, should be proper authertic road cars only

I'm worried they'll be humiliated. We saw this year, that the Aston Martin LMP1 team were beaten by several LMP2 cars, until they retired early on.

Do you mean the days of the McLaren F1 GTR, Jaguar XJ220 etc. The mid 90's era.
