So.....Nibali has lost the lead, to Gallopin. A Frenchman - on Bastille Day! Everything could change today - Stage10 - with 4 x Cat.1 climbs (including the Finish); 3 x Cat.2 and 1 x Cat.3.
This will be a defining day in the tour, I think after today you will start to see who the contenders are likely to be, now there is no clear favourite since Froome withdrew.
Would like to se Voeckler win today from the breakaway. Unlikely with a big climb to finish though, breaks don't often survive those.
Reckons he hit something in the road (a stone or something) and crashed. Still think this is Nibali's to lose.
Finally, we hit the Alps and the first hors categorie climb. A mountain top finish of the Chamrousse. Bring it on!
This climb is sorting them out, they are dropping off one by one, Porte is gone and off the back of the leading group.
They all need Nibali to have a bad day now. Afraid Porte just not up to challenging for the podium. Sky probably shouldn't have dropped back Nieve to try and pace him back.
Aye and Kennaugh has stuck up two fingers in the best possible way. Or perhaps it'll prove a masterstroke going forward.
