Why was Federici holding his face? Neither J-Rod or their defender touched him anywhere near there.

I think it was a case of "Oh no I ****ed up there, I must hide my face!" rather than an injury.

I think I saw the defenders arm catch him in the face, but I could be wrong.

This is right. As he tried to get out of JayRod's way (coward) he got bulldosed by his own defender.

I read the title of this thread and thought someone had installed a camera on Le Fondre, was that his purpose in the game?

I only had the chance to watch this live and a few replays on the stream I was watching not being able to view it several times on different programmes like many are able to back in the UK. My opinion was it was a goal when it happened as the keeper was late and then bottled his challenge. I was just amazed at the view of an opponent that had to have been perhaps one the the furthest away from the incident and surely keeping quiet and not offering his view would have been the better option. Had Le Fondre put away his chance before the opening goal things may have turned out differently and he would then have been the hero, as it is he is another striker that clearly had an off day against our shaky defence as the media like to portray.

Most of Le Fondre's goals in L2 were worse than that. A few of 'em here at the bank. You can still barge the keeper along with his tab end and flat cap into the net in L2 :)

If you had to have Le Fondre or Grant Holt right now , who would you pick?

    Le Fondre.

By the way, I don't understand why everyone is posting all this pejorative stuff about him, just because he expressed an opinion that his team should have got a decision. Honestly.

If we had to have either, then Le Fondre. In truth, he's not a bad player. He's in a bad team.

Le Fondre. I reckon him playing off Lambert could be quite formidable, actually. But we have JRod for that. :)
