That was a proper performance! Xhaka and Wilshere were really excellent. Monreal threw himself all over the place. Ozil ran his socks off. If we play like this without Sanchez. Good riddance!
4th cup final in 5 seasons Great desire in that game. The team worked really hard and really upped their game in the second half. Thought Ozil was brilliant. Monreal and Kosc did really well too. Wilshere put in a really good performance. Good idea with the subs from Wenger to close out the game. Ecstatic!
With El Neny in midfield with Xhaka and Wilshere, Xhaka was able to play a more free game. Did really well to get the goal.
Imagine what we would be like with a TOP DM. Hats off to Elneny though this was one of his best ever games for Arsenal.
We've beaten Chelsea in the FA Cup final, the Community Shield and now the semi final of the league cup! They must hate playing us at the moment.
Yeah I don't think I've ever seen him play as well as today. Was very comfortable and assured on the ball, always gave our defenders an outlet and covered a lot of ground. He still needs to be replaced by someone better but he did well today.
Great to reach another domestic cup final! Although we have received a lot of (thoroughly justified) criticism over the years, this will be our 4th domestic cup final in 5 years. I know we all want to do better in the Premier League and the Champions League/Europe, but our domestic cup record really isn't too shabby! Conte's cup and Wenger hoodoos continue . 1 win in 8 against him now, but 0 in our 5 encounters this season. Either way, Chelsea can't seem to buy a win against us these days. Long may it continue
We played really well today, it does seem like the team plays better when there isnt so much ego all over the place...and I do agree it seems Wenger has Conte's number. There was good effort put in all over the pitch; Monreal was my MOTM personally. Manchester City will not be an easy team in the final, however so we shall see what happens. I know we are a long, long, long, long way from it, but as I've said before... If we do what United did last year and win both the carabao cup and the europa league, that will be a FANTASTIC season IMO.
The players had clearly been told to double up on Hazard and be quick into him, be aggressive and keep him away from the area. Thought the players dealt with him really well.
Everyone was good today. Jack wasn't really on his game today but his effort made up for it. We are beginning to see what Xhaka actually is. He needs to improve on his passing. Iwobi did well today especially covering Monreal. Ozil was pulling the strings. Similar to Jack, Laca's hardwork was vital. Monreal was super once again. Great team effort!
Great to get the measure of Chelsea, the chavvy ****s. They've tormented us over the years and Drogba and Costa were a nightmare for us. Now they are trying to buy Peter ****ing Crouch
