Watched this guy the other night against Spurs, thought he was brilliant.

He has a huge release clause and would cost teams such as Liverpool, Spurs and United £25m upwards, but apparently we secured a first option agreement with Benfica when they signed him that could see us sign him for about £12.5m.

Given the situation that other top European clubs are circling, I would jump at the chance to sign him. I would be then trying to get him loaned out, to maybe Everton or even a team that could help u secure another transfer target.

Think you need to broaden the football you watch then. I caught two glimpses of him in just the last week against Spurs and for Serbia against Ireland.

As for United being linked with him, I never said that, I stated clubs like Liverpool, Spurs and United, just as an example of clubs other than Chelsea, would have to pay £25m upwards for him whilst we could sign him for half that figure.

Only saw him against Spurs and he did have a very good game.

One swallow doesn't make a summer. Iv'e seen hundreds of players make impressions in one, even two games and they have been average since moving up. Like I said to the wife. "One swallow doesn't make a summer, but it might get you a better birthday present".
