we will never know what is true or not but i had heard a figure of £200 to £250 K was offered for him
i was one of the fans who really hoped we would have signed him a proven goal scorer and it would have been statment of intent by the club.

this is from a forum Somerset road end Ayre united related forum (2018)
"to pre-empt any speculation in the media we can confirm that we have today received a bid of £150k from a club south of the border. Our board of directors rejected the bid.

Manager Ian McCall said :"Lawrence remains fully committed to this club as his performance on Saturday showed. He is contracted to Ayr United football club."
.also in the forum was a mention of the club turning down £75k bid from Dundee

"In the last few days I've seen him linked with Dundee,St Mirren, Kilmarnock, AFC Fylde, Bristol Rovers, Shrewsbury Town, Grimsby Town and Luton !"

after not been signed by us in the 2018/19 season he scored 34 goals
this season 13 goals and two assists

he has a goal per game average of 0.48

That's a really good goal ratio and if it was us, then it's a shame we didn't pull it off.

there was rmours we were after him before it got in the news and we were linked to him. . considering his long proven goal scoring record i was more than a bit annoyed we did not break our transfer record to get him . bearing in mind we had cash reservers at the time we then went for Angol !!!!! and we all know how that worked out.
