On the general quality or lack thereof this season in the Prem I tend to agree with Hilts. There have been some fantastic games, brilliant goals and stunning exhibitions of football by some teams. But generally mid table down teams have been very inconsistent and at times downright poor.

I put our 3-0 win in the derby in the former category. <laugh>
 
I've seen every home game, very few teams have impresses me. Arsenal & Southampton were the best IMO.

Spurs, Liverpool (Attacking) not far behind but the rest nothing to write home about.
 
There is only one person who has made the club a laughing stock and ruin what could have been a good season and that is Vincent tan, there is no other issues as he has been responsible for every single incident that has caused cardiff to become a joke club. He had everything in place through the efforts of malkey who got the team promoted as champions but tan just could not stop playing the fool and instead of letting malkey continue to run the club where he was grinding out results he interfered and made malkey's job a nightmare to do. Tan used the moody gate to get rid of malkey after malkey told tan to back off. Tan then started on the players and stopped bonuses and that act alone was a huge mistake. Tan is so use to calling the shots in everything that he could not and would not accept that he could not do that with cardiff. Tan ended up his own worst enemy and he also destroyed what could have been a good season... What good manager would ever want to work under tan and his loony ways and as far as i can see everyone has come out in support of malkey and not tan...
 
Good to see Daiswam doesn't make assumptions or jump to any rash conclusions. It is great to hear from somebody who knows exactly the inner thoughts of a person he has never met, and on top of that knows all the little inside stories of an opposition club.

Geez Dai I think you have an inferiority complex regarding chairmen and owners. First it was your own Huw Jenkins you lambasted for months now it's VT! Take a chill pill fella.
No one on here agrees with some of VTs decisions or choices but he isn't to blame for all ills at the club, oh unless you mean because if he hadn't appointed MM in the first place none of this would have happened?
 
Im just saying like, It was part of the discussion after all. I can only go by what i see or read or get told and i would say that Vincent tan is the person who destroyed cardiff's season by his actions....

I love your comments, even if they are a bit cock-eyed at times.

Obviously all down to Tan, even if it's only because he trusted people he employed, he should have known better, so ultimately yes, it is Tans fault, but the biggest messes were created by others while he was out of the room.
 
so dai puts the blame solely on tan, presumably second to blame is david marshall <laugh>.

managers form a little union against owners, you will never see the LMA or other managers criticising managers, but owners are fair game, tan is a crack pot but managers who do poorly need to look a little closer to home to see where the blame lies. tan deserves his share of the blame for his off field decisions, but sackings happen all the time, its not an excuse to say there has been turmoil…<ok>

Mackay has to take blame for his dreadfully naïve summer signings, and lack of signing experienced PL players in vital positions. he also has to take blame for negative tactics in the away games against mid to low table teams.

OGS has to take blame for a dreadful January window. He also has to take fault for wrong tactics & team selections.

Tan's fault was not getting in someone with PL experience to assist/guide Mackay as soon as promotion was secured. He also erred in not sacking Mackay at same time as Moody. Then the vital error was in replacing him with an untried, inexperienced manager.

Nothing to do with the red shirts etc.

This is a pretty fair summary - though I am not sure we can criticise Ole for January. Seems the money had already been spent by Malky and he did what he could with very little - hence the swap with Stoke.

Ninian - these are valed opinions, however I disagree.

Mackay spent £35.0M or so - what would you expect for this investment? Champions League? Top Half? For £35.0M Mackay assembled a squad good enough to stay in the division, which for that amount of investment is a job well done. Had Mackay remained manager we would be safe by now (only an opinion I know). I agree he was a bit negative, but was starting to use Mutch & Noone after a half decent start.
OGS - no blame really - poor guy looked out of his depth from day 1 - CANNOT be allowed to stay for next year.
Tan - where to start - sacking Moody, sacking Mackay at the wrong time - should have stayed 'till end of season, threatening players with withdrawal of bonuses, booing his own players, having total disregard for Cardiff as a city, its fan base, its history, interference in team affairs, giving away Cornelius, when we were blatently short of fire power ( I know he wasn't exactly prolific but come on - 80 minutes playing time in total & Kenwynne Jones FFS).
Players - as I've said before - squad at begining of season were good enough to stay up & were actually playing well enough to stay up - in my opinion they weren't interested once Malcy's position was threatened -OGS's indecision & lack of tactical know how didn't help either. Can anyone explain why Caulker & Turner looked solid under Mackay, or Taylor actually looked good enough for Premier League, or Medel looked a bargain, or KTC looked an excellent purchase?
 
Once again, agree that it's all a matter of opinion, but we need to get some facts correct.

Tan didn't boo his own players at all - that was media crap based upon some misinterpreted Sky footage. He was actually booing the ref as many were that day for playing excessive added on time in the Sunderland game.

He was actually doing exactly what thousands of others in the stands were, but only Tan accused of booing the players because it suited the greedy media desire for a story.

Cornelius should never have been bought in the first place. Keeping him on to prove a point would have been a bad decision - two wrongs don't make a right. Getting him off the books was a sound business move after a calamitous mistake by the club's management paying that ludicrous up front money for him, and then giving him a 5 year contract at £45k a week FFS!

Not to prove a point, but to give us a sorely needed option up front - Kenwynne Jones FFS. The opposite is probably nearer the mark- that Tan SOLD hom to prove a point.

Not true in my opinion - what we gained in wages offset by ridiculous amount we accepted when we sold him. Plus, you never know, given the chance, he might have scored a goal or two

We all saw the Sky footage - you are assuming that I (and the 'media' crap) interpreted it wrongly and you interpreted it correctly.

By the way Sparkey- I don't run with this anti media sentiment - the media are as entitled to say it as they see it as are you and are I - its called freedom of speech - its' up to us the readers (or watchers) to decide if we believe it or not.

I have to be honest it does make me laugh when both Tan and anti Tan debate on here. Where do we honestly get our info? From the media. So you can interpret your argument to support your stance at any given time. I am not ITK. I've made my feelings clear on Tan based upon hearsay and media reports and I stand by that assumption. I do sometimes wonder how much truth there is in the £45K a week Spark.

100% agree - there are precious little 'facts' - the only information we get is via the media & it is up to us to believe or not believe - I tend to read/ watch/listen to as many sources as possible & then make a judgement as to what I believe is the truth - this 'truth' I believe may be a load of bollux, but at least its' an informed opinion, based on the information available.

Fact, the man who bought Cornelius wouldn't give him a chance to play PL football despite us being desperate for a striker. Another manager (and ex top level striker) saw him train and chose to sell him. The club would have been over the moon if Ole had suddenly tapped into potential that was in Cornelius. There is no way Tan wanted to write off that cash which has come straight from his pocket. Add to that we all saw him and without doubt Rudy was a better player, we signed him for free as he was an unsigned reject, then gave him to Blackburn as he wasn't anywhere near good enough for this league.

I was booing at the end of the Sunderland game, at the Ref and the ridiculous amount of added time. You can assume what you want but the idea Tan was booing the players for the best 60 minutes we'd put together in the previous 24 months is a little far fetched IMO. He like the rest of us was booing the ref.

The media's only agenda is to sell papers/create web hits. Anti Tan/Tan's a looney sells, simple as that.

I agree the £45k has never been substantiated, it would be about right for a £8-10m striker though.

The defenders looked better under MM as the whole team played defensively and allowed very little space in front of them meaning they weren't exposed. Taylor was already being taken apart under the last 5 or 6 games of MM's reign as he simply isn't close to quick enough to play FB in the PL. This had been established and was being exploited weekly.
