Perhaps not poor but a weaker league this season.

2 games to go - 30 points and we are still not relegated. Despite being garbage most of the season.

Palace and Hull survive comfortably.

The worst Man U side for at least 20 years.

We managed to beat the probable title winners.

Everytime we attacked the other likely winners Liverpool at home their defence was all over the place. Scoring 3.

A decent manager and Palace are suddenly better than established PL oufits.

I dont think the league this year is that great. Just we have been complete garbage.

Palace have shown with a few shrewd signings and being well organised you can survive comfortably from a promotion.

We just messed up big time.

Nah we are down. Total shambles at the moment.

I agree we need a major shake up on and off the pitch

The way we are playing at the moment established Championship sides would take us apart.

Thats why I think we need a proven Championship Manager. Tan needs to keep out of team affairs and return us to a blue kit to get everyone onside.

If there arent changes led from the top we could easily do a Wolves.

An article of April 5 reported that Vincent Tan had refused Iain Moody entry to the Cardiff City FC directors&#8217; box and had forced him to sit with away fans during Cardiff&#8217;s recent match against Crystal Palace.

We understand that in fact this was not the case and neither Mr Tan nor Cardiff City FC played a part in Mr Moody&#8217;s decision to sit with the away fans.
The club has confirmed that Mr Moody did not request entry to the directors' box and that, had he done so, he would have been afforded the same hospitality as any other guest from another club.

We are sorry that the original report was incorrect.
 
Can't disagree with a lot of comments here, even some Swans are getting it right!
Personally I do not think Ole is the man for the job, in the championship, should we go down.
Would MM have kept us up? He would probably have ground out a few more points. The style of play would have had fans moaning, I know I was, because of the dross I have watched during his tenure. MM is perhaps a good championship manager but never premier league, he may grow into a great manager but not yet.
Tan was unbelievably niave in allowing MM full reign but in business this is not uncommon, you get big bucks to make big decisions, if it goes flat on its arse you're the one taking the heat.
Major overhaul required at the club and I hope lessons learned will mean a more balanced approach from everyone from Tan downwards.

This Ladies and Gentlemen was where our season started to crumble - up to then team was playing reasonably well and we were looking OK position-wise in the table - MM was starting to use Mutch & Noone insted of Cowie/Gunnar..then this lot happened - maybe someone should have told Tan that witholding players bonuses isn't the best way to motivate palyers. Played a 'stinker' against Newcastle and performances dropped from this moment on - almost a case of an owner 'losing' the team - then the business of Moody/Mackay blew up and it seemed to me that the players 'sided' with Mackay and didn't want to play for Tan when they perceived him 'shafting' Mackay. Call it lack of professionalism if you want but the players just didn't perform from then on.

As Masky's thread says, Caulkers answer to who is our best player...........but MM choose to not use him for almost a third of the PL season.
 
Whiffle - cherry picking a WOL article to support a particular viewpoint is all too easy. When you consider what other garbage that rag has produced, it may be worthwhile accepting that it was in there to fill some column inches.

Nathan Blake's opinions may be closer to the facts of the situation than any of us on here, but it doesn't make them definitive. He said: -

“As an ex-player I know the players would say the bonus situation didn’t have anything to do with it, but looking from the outside it definitely had something to do with the way they played. Put it this way, it doesn’t help things at all."

So the players went out and underperformed for the club because they were upset?

Tan is an absolute ****er when it comes to pure footballing nous, and should not involve himself in the game - that much we all can agree on. His lack of understanding of what goes on has been laid bare on a number of occasions, but it ignores the basic facts.

The squad of players gathered to represent CCFC this year in the Premier league is weak on class and not up to the task. Mackay built the majority of it and that is also a fact. We were being found out as every game passed.

Those who advocate that Malky would have kept us up are the straw clutchers in reality - the unnavoidable truth is that we were and are not good enough for this division this season.

Can't argue with that, but I maintain he had started using Mutch & Noone prior to his sacking....too late maybe but maybe he wanted to make us hard to beat before introducing the flair players when he'd built a solid foundation...and to my way of thinking he actually had done that successfully.

WOL is a newspaper - they report events as they perceive them to be - whether we read them or believe them is up to us as individulas - I've picked WOL for this point as its local but the same story ran accross all newspapers (it was even highlighted on the TV commentry of the Newcastle game) - I used it as a source to illustrate my belief that this incident was the beginning of our decline this season - not so much 'cherry picking' but research - but hey, you say potato...
 
The fact that the incident and it's believed consequences were reported across other newspapers is normal - it was a story that once published gathered momentum in the media and the conclusions drawn about the team's performances since is pure speculation. That doesn't of course mean that the opinion you've projected isn't valid - it just isn't necessarily the case as others see it. <ok>

There have been numerous articles about Tan and his quirkey to say the least approach to the club, and he's deserved what he's got for some of his rubbish he's (reported) to have come out with. That doesn't alter the fact that the derogatory effect they've had on team performances as a consequence is just pure conjecture.

We can't escape the opinion of many that we are just not good enough for this division, though I agree that any side issues surrounding the club do more harm than good - it's the extent to which you believe that it is the real problem that counts.
 
I agree that Noone was not included as he was 'making sure we were solid' but as I said on here at the time. He was our best attacking player the year before so why MM refused to even use him off the bench was a mystery. I remember watching him warm up before the Villa game, he looked razor sharp. That game was a 0-0 stalemate for 70 odd minutes. It was MM's overall negative attitude that keep him out of the side. The goal he scored against West Ham in the cup should have put him straight into first team at the very least.
Madrid showed last night you don't have to pick a team of workers to defend well and play on the counter. They played a defensive game with a front 3 then Modric and Di maria as 2 of the midfield 3 whilst retaining attack minded full backs.
 
When the truth comes out I won't be surprized if most of the **** thrown at Tan came from Malky & Moody.
 
Just for the record (because I was interested myself).

MM did not play Noone or bring him on in our 13th or 14th (0-0 Stoke) games. The 15th was the debacle at Palace in which he was brought on at half time.

First game he started was the 1-0 win v West Brom our 16th game of the season. MM was sacked 2 games later both of which Noone started (Liverpool away, Saints home).
 
There won't be any truths coming out. The whole thing will be buried. Tan will settle this dispute before any legal wrangle takes place.
