I think we should try a similar yet alternative tactic and loan Chelsea Nicklas Bendtner with the stipulation that he has to play against us.
I agree that Everton are looking good this season, but there was an element of luck involved last night as well with United hitting the woodwork twice and missing chances they would normally stick away (a big chorus of aah, diddums!!). This, for me, was one of the elements of last nights win that made me smile. It seems as though lady luck is looking for a new partner and the retirement of Fergie has precipitated this. Of all the games that Moyes was going to lose, this one had to be the favourite. It will be interesting to see how both of these teams react in their next games. Newcastle can provide a stiff test for United as Old Trafford has now lost some of its fear factor. Everton will be up for our game and will provide another test of our supposed outside chances of winning the league (at least if you listen to the Match of the day pundits). This is panning out as a good and exiting season with a promise of plenty of twists. Sit back and enjoy the ride....
Loans are only a different form of transaction, they are part of their team for this year. If they weren't loaned, chances are they would have bought other players. I don't think there is any meaningful difference between a loan and a purchase in playing terms, it's just a different way of doing business. That is the side of the game I am not interested in. I'm sure Chelsea may regret their loan if Everton finish above them. Not impossible.
I doubt you'd have found a single Spurs fan who thought we would win the league this season (well maybe one ). Maybe in the future if the "project" works out, but never this season.
FYI Lukaku made the choice to go on loan, Chelsea did not force him whatsoever. he could not be guaranteed first team football and if Everton make top 4 Lukaku has made noises about making the move permanent, barry may do similar, he is enjoying his football there and barkley is a quality prospect, one of the best if not the best English prospect. It doesn't matter that players are on loan, it matters that Martinez has a squad of players and uses them to get as many points as possible and they are doing exceptionally well, in spite of having loan players actually. Look at Moses at Liverpool, hardly making the team any better, looks totally disinterested.
As if. Everton would have been able to buy a striker as good as Lukaku?? Get real. Irrelevant. Lukaku won't go to Everton, simply because he's too good. Even if Chelsea decide to sell him (which won't happen), they'd have a queue of the best teams in Europe bidding. Which means he won't go to Everton. And of course it matters that players are on loan. The Moses example is irrelevant but still unfair. The fact that a player plays well or not is not the point. Loaning a player to another team in the same league and then banning them playing against you gives you an unfair advantage.
100% agree. I'm surprised that this still happens. It's appalling that a team can buy up all the best players in the world and just loan them out because they can't play them all. On the subject of loans and not playing against the loaners, I find that laughable. How is this ever allowed to happen? Man City and Chelsea have bought up so many good players that they could affectively make another team dangerous and take points off others. The fact that a top player like Lukaka is playing for a decent but not top Prem side like Everton is ridiculous. Its no surprise that they are currently 5th. Now we have to face this same Everton side with a VERY DANGEROUS player that they don't even own.
I do believe the loan system is flawed. I don't think a loaned player should play in the same league as their parent club.
there title challenge is now picking up speed, the jugernaught has just left the station and smashed through Fulham, be afraid people.
Lol "irrelevant" You made an incorrect statement, Lukaku choice to go to Everton, hardly irrelevant. martinez getting them to play so well, hardly irrelevant. They have the players they have and are doing well, it's all that counts. the league table says so. In Chelsea's case the ban you talk about is actually "Irrelevant" because Everton have already taken 3 points from them. so it doesn't matter until the next game. If Everton manage another win the point will be totally redundant It is common practice to not allow your loan player to play against you. in fact it makes sense for the club receiving the loan in terms of conflict of interest. it is not an unfair advantage, it is giving Everton Lukaku for 36 league games and it's paid off, it is most definitely an advantage to Everton for those 36 games, the fact they beat Chelsea is icing on the cake. Everton agreed to not playing Lukaku against Chelsea, not sure how it is unfair given they were happy to do it and it is a huge part of why they are doing well
I was trying to hum the words, and then spell it out, could not make my up if went like this, da da da da da der lucky bastards, so I gave up,hence the lack of grammer, but when I was teenager, following ffc was more important than going to school not sore loser. I am use to that, just gutted that we lost a game, that we deserved at least a draw from it
I guess during your legendary September 2013 power shift and title charge There is nothing wrong with being opto after spending £130m
