    Yes,you're right. Well spotted.

I bet you are looking forward to being at a "rammed" Liberty Stadium to see Monk parade a Cup and League Trophy come the end of the season. <cheers>

You're incorrect in your analyisis of my 5 words.

There's no spite in there, only my observation that he took a job in a place where nobody is really interested in football - the strangest of decisions in football that I can remember. It's a bit like Robin van Persie leaving United and signing for Aldershot - you'd expect him to shine there with his talent.

And for the record, I have no agenda against Laudrup, I'm one of the ones who didn't want him gone and am still appalled by the way it happened, but that doesn't mean I think his achievement in a minor league is some fantastic success.

Why should Laudrup's post Swansea career choice bother you?
    Presumably he had his reasons.
Perhaps he was doing a favour for a friend.
Perhaps he wanted to see the sun again.
He certainly didn't need the money, thanks to Jenkins' generosity.
What does it matter to you where he ends up,since you are clearly not a fan of his.?

    Why respond to the OP?

"No spite",hmm,I'm not convinced, but won't pursue it.

Just because you dismiss his success, doesn't mean others should follow suit.

Not much success in the Swansea camp,so why not rejoice at Laudrup's. Reflected glory, etc.
To diss his achievement is rather churlish.
The supporters of his team are quite happy,I'm sure.

    OK.
    * None of his decisions in life bother me, but that doesn't mean I don't have an opinion on it.

    * It doesn't matter to me where he ends up. If you bothered to absorb my previous reply to your incorrect analysis then you'd have read that I was a fan of Laudrup and didn't want him to go - but you seem happy to choose the bits that suit your agenda best.

    * I responded to the OP as I am entitled to or was the OP meant as just information to digest without reply ?

    * I don't expect anyone to follow suit on anything I say, I'm an individual with an opinion. What, however is coming across is that you feel anyone who doesn't agree with you should just shut up and butt out because their opinion isn't valid.

    * The supporters of his team are obviously happy, and well they should be. I still think it's a massive backwards step in his career regardless.

    * What does it matter to you what I think ?

Your opinion is as valid as anyone else's,and to suggest I wish to suppress it,is simply not true.

I queried the worth of your 5 word post, which offered nothing to the thread, other than snideness.

It doesn't really matter to me what you think.

Responding to posts is acceptable on this Forum,or at least,I thought it was.

Guaranteeing PL survival with a sackful of games left was one achievement, equalling our best ever points tally was another, and we WILL set a best ever points tally in the PL. That is definitely a success. We've had a few more this season too if you pay attention <ok>

    "Guaranteeing PL survival..."

He did that on his own then? A real superman eh?
You seem to have very conveniently forgotten Laudrup's contribution of 24 points, against Monk's 18,in that "survival".
    No surprise there then.

    "Not much success".

Well, the word "success" was used in relation to actually WINNING something TANGIBLE,viz a League Title, promotion,or heaven forbid - EVEN A CUP.

Since we haven't won ANYTHING TANGIBLE,(sorry to repeat myself, but you do it often enough),and were thrashed in The FA Cup by a lower League team, who had a striker that tormented us ,who, according to you,"couldn't hack it in the P.L."

But perhaps I haven't been fully attentive, and I am sure you can now put me in my place by advising me which Title, which Promotion, and which Cup the Club has won under Monk.
Shouldn't take you long to do that.

You,and several others, have been telling me, in no uncertain way, that I should be heaping lavish praise on Monk.
Yet you,and many others, were jumping ship soon enough when teams were hammering us.
I on the other hand have been consistent, viz,no drivelling adulation, and no going for a swim in The Solent, either.
Not much loyalty towards Monk on that day at St.Mary's,not until about the 83 rd minute, and Shelvey's life saver.
Then all was rosy in the garden again.

I won't be a part of the hysteria surrounding Monk and the continued determination to somehow enlarge him and undermine his predecessor.

Sad,yet very predictable, to see The Monkees spoiling this appreciation of Laudrup and his modest success. Too much time on their hands.

Now, if only they had a Cup to polish, things could be oh so different. <laugh><laugh><laugh>

In the return fixtures after Monk took over Monk gained 18 points - Laudrup 17 (an impressive display against Arsenal IMO picked up the extra point)
During that time period December - Laudrup leaving Swansea the only team we lost to who were below us in the league was West Ham away 2 - 0 (Shades of Leicester?? But no one got sacked this time round!)
Under Monk we lost to two teams below us in the league but did gain impressive draw against Arsenal.

From December - Laudrup leaving we played top 7 teams 5 times (under Monk 3 times).
Against teams in comparable position to ours or below us, at the time, we played away three times - drawing 2 & losing 1.
At home, against teams in comparable position to ours or below us (8th down) , we played three - winning two and drawing 1.
During that period (that some say was so awful) we played 2 away games in the FA Cup won both
    (Man United, Birmingham)
We lost two games in the Europa League.
We remained in two cup competitions

From Monk taking over - end of season we played top 7 teams 3 times.
Against teams in comparable position to ours or below us (8th down), at the time, we played away four times winning 2, drawing 1 & losing 1. (We also beat both Newcastle and Sunderland convincingly at home)

At home, against teams in comparable position to ours or below us (8th down), we played six, winning three, drawing 1 & losing 2.
During that period (that some say was so fantastic) we went out of the FA Cup and the Europa Cup (although the Napoli games were very close and the draw at home was a good result).

It was probably the win against an shockingly poor Cardiff that gained Monk his legendary status.
I remember it well - a turgid 0 - 0 after 45 minutes was transformed into an emphatic humiliation of Cardiff following a half time team talk ... from Curt (if players are to be believed)!

Setting a new points record will most definitely be a success. You won't acknowledged that though.

Of course Laudrup has contributed points this season.
By proxy, since Monk has clearly benefited from observing The Great Dane during his sojourn at Swansea.
Or perhaps you will deny that as well. <laugh>
