Yes indeed at least Monk has the club going up the table, something ML had great difficulty understanding, maybe his compass was fixed to magnetic south!........<laugh>

As he states in the article, some of us (I would argue, the real Swans fans) will be discussing that season and the team that won our first major trophy in 100 years, achieving our first top 10 Prem finish....decades from now.
Although it will no doubt be acknowledged that Monk did a good job the following season I somehow doubt that his diamond formation and the extra couple of points gained will provoke the same excitement somehow. Do you?

Maybe Monk can teach him a few football tricks as well, while he's at it :emoticon-0102-bigsm

Spot on. Seasons come and go but titles are forever. As the commentators mentioned at the end of the clip; He's a guy that wins titles. Always were.

Well you make some interesting points there Terror, and while winning a cup was the high point, after that it was all down hill, and the Cup masked over so many issues, the cracks were there in that first season, but we ignored them as fans because of winning the cup. Of course whatever you want to believe regarding the second season, one things for sure the cracks opened up big time, and the rest is history.

My view of Laudrop is that he did not do his homework on us as a team, and he tried to rush us into getting forward with the ball without much thought for our passing game, he stopped our wing play and width that we had to the game, he failed to address player discipline, and while by his own admission it would be his last season with us, the depth of his management or the lack of it started to show, and many fans around the stadium were discussing our drop off in performances. It was inevitable that with the issues that surrounded him, he had to go, it's amazing how Michu stuck by him, while being driven on to play while carrying injuries which he should thank Laudrop for.

When it came to team talks at half time from ML, why was it that Michu was often missing, standing in the tunnel? A fact that many real fans now about, but which the Laudrop sycophants ignore or dismiss as untrue. ML was only interested in his image in front of the camera, and it's why he's now practising his trade in some desert backwater of the game. While winning the cup was a milestone, the football that ML introduced was a step backwards, and we are still paying the price for that, Monk has steadied the ship very well, but will need another season to bring back the legacy we had from Martinez and Rodgers, that's why Laudrop was a mixed bag for me, and will always be remembered as such, same story at his previous clubs too............<ok>

Laughable deluded comments. As if the whole season under Monk has simply been a case of steadying the ship, especially considering that practically all of ML:s squad was cleared out during the summer. Makes for a nice excuse though..not.
And blaming Laudrup for Michus injury, when Laudrup himself has stated that it was Michu who insisted to keep on playing and wanting to postpone the treatment, as evidenced by this article for example: http://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/s...drup-concerns-over-michu-injury-29732833.html

"When I say he has not been at his best, it is because he has been struggling with both his knees for many weeks, but he wanted to play anyway.."

Obviously the medical staff didn't think it was that bad, or they would've stopped him from playing. It's not as if ML had a gun to his head.

Oh, and don't even get me started on the ridiculous tunnel bullshit :emoticon-0102-bigsm

Fact is, when fans criticize ML:s second season, they totally seem to forget that not only did he get us into Europa League, he even got us through.

The only thing Laudrup can learn from Monk is where NOT to go to have his hair done. <laugh>

Laudrup was the best thing that ever happened to The Swans'.
He took the Club on a wonderful journey.
Merely having his name attached to the Club was a stroke of genius by Jenkins.
That it all turned sour was not only down to him, although it suits some to think along those lines.

In world football parlance,it's Michael Laudrup, and Garry Who?

The football the swans have been playing this year has been probably the worse i have seen. A bunch of smash and grab wins and solid defending.
