Total and utter codswallop! this is how we have been used to playing before Laudrup landed on our doorstep, he strangled our game (The Swansea way) and Monk has resurrected it, four games that show already that Monk as a Rookie knows far more about our players than clearly Laudrup ever did, no wonder he was sacked, best thing that could ever have happened, seems some supporters simply do not have a clue!.....................<ok>

The piece I read, Valley, didn't refer to the backroom staff at all. It merely stated that Laudrup agreed to Jenkins' suggestion that Monk become part of the coaching team. Perhaps an addition as opposed to a replacement?

That's interesting ivor, because i remember Monk saying that he was never aproached to work on ML coaching staff.
Hopefully everything will come out into the open so we can then just move on <ok>

It's early days but at the Stadium last night, the game was tremendous because Swansea were energised, pacy and confident.
They looked far different from the tired and slightly pedestrian side I have seen in other games.
I think the sacking was shabby but on last night's evidence the spark lost recently has returned.
Well played the lads last night.

Can anyone point me to anything that Monk has done radically different to Laudrup?

All I hear is we're playing a bit wider...I'd like to see what the results of this subtle switch would be if Monk had to pick Lamah and Pozuelo on the wings.
We're moving the ball quicker I hear you say...do you think Laudrup was telling them to move it slow?
He criticised the tempo a couple of times in post match interviews.
I put it to you the tempo is better because the personnel is now better due to the return from injury of a no. of first teamers.
It also helps that we've just had 2 months where we haven't had to play 2 games a week.

We're playing well, yes. We played this well under Laudrup when we were in form....you must be suffering from amnesia if you think otherwise.

He very wisely hasn't made any radical changes.

Last thing needed this late in a season. Enough upheaval as things stood.

And it's been a bloody long time waiting for us to return to form too.

Sorry Terror but Hernandez was outstanding last night where he has been very ordinary under ML. The difference was extraordinary last night and I have seen every Home hame for the last 5 years.

He was outstanding for Laudrup briefly, early last season after he had settled, the pinnacle of which was the West Brom game at home...he was as good as last night in that position IMO.

He has either been injured or recovering from injury, before getting injured again, ever since.

For Christ sake! He's only here because of Laudrup...most spent the first season slagging him off as well! :)

You were wrong here were you not? I've just listed 5 top sides Laudrup's Swans beat....so the truth is your post below is rubbish isn't it :)

    Arsenal,
    Chelsea (over 2 legs),
    Man Utd,
    Liverpool,
    Valencia.

Just off the top of my head. You obviously haven't been paying attention.

So why do people feel that our up turn in form is down to him then?

It's the players that play the football and we have several of our better players back on the pitch now....so we play better.
    What has Monk done exactly?

Anyone fancy betting on what would happen if Monk took over another club next season?
Would they be playing football like that in 2 weeks?
    Don't think so somehow.

Monk doesn't have to do nothing except inspire , Jenkins knew that and thats why Garry's there . Summer is another story though ,
If we need to fill a lot of positions , Monk is out .

Terror, sorry, think you're being deliberately obtuse there. Of course the upturn is due to him.

That does not mean he's made some clever change in the style of our play but more in that he's got the lads believing in themselves again and fired up. We've still got injuries but even the fringe players are putting it in (Everton).

Unfortunately for ML this was something he wasn't able to do over the course of a fair few months and ultimately proved his undoing.

Norfolk well said mate, it's so obvious that Monk has more leadership qualities than Laudrup, not to mention motivational skills. I also noted the outstanding performance from our second string at Everton, and had monk given Bony 30 or 40 minutes we could well have won that game, our performances were dropping off a cliff under Laudrup, but in a matter of just a few weeks, Monk has turned the squad around for all to see except the Laudrup sycophants on here!............<ok>
