Dai, no insults pal, have you heard of Mendenhall ? He postulated different writers use word frequencies so as to identify different writers. This has been developed over the years as to become a very exact science so each writer can be identified by the frequency, number, and punctuation used time after time. So ' Dai 'whom am I addressing ? 'Dai' 1 or 'Dai' 2 ?
What Jager said. I have first hand experience of journos making things up. You're naive if you think they don't.
Now how the hell can you know that....the swans have a team of reporters assigned to them and they go everywhere the swans go and they are in regular dialogue with everyone....of course he made them comments to the EP
Christ man listen to the interview, its less than 2mins long, and everything in the Post article is from there http://www1.skysports.com/watch/vid...ms/swansea-city/8734787/laudrup-going-nowhere
Dai - your faith in the local press is endearing, but totally unfounded! They are continuously wrong - 'why would they say it' ? Because it sells newspapers and that is all they are concerned about - the truth will never stand in the way of a story! And the EP is a very small newspaper that tend to get their stories second hand - no publicist worth their salt would release an exclusive to a small newspaper - there would be no point as they are only interested in maximum exposure! A case in point is the Western Fail - a few years ago they lambasted a story that appeared in the national press about a supposed romantic liaison between Charlotte Church and Gavin Henson - they boasted about having inside information and that if the two were romantically linked they would be the first to know about it; they even went as far as to say that the two had never met!!! When the engagement was announced shortly after they back-pedalled spectacularly and said that they had known all along and were just respecting the couples privacy! My point is that the likes of the EP are way down the food chain and some of their so called 'exclusives' border on the embarrassing - spend an evening on Google and you could predict the EP's headlines the following day!
Come on now Dai, think about it. Why would Laudrup sign an extension then shortly afterwards say he wants money for targets or he'll leave? Doesn't strike me as the way he works at all. He has an excellent relationship with Jenkins and I'm sure this is pretty much a non-story put out to sell papers. Laudrup has publicly stated that we'll have to make some signings just to stand still so this is nothing new. Trouble is old news doesn't sell papers. But include the phrase " Laudrup will stay providing he gets money for players" and there's an implicit threat to walk - which does sell papers. Journos aren't stupid, but they are dishonest. Can't believe you're that naive to believe them.
come on now there is a lot of selective views on what you read in the EP, If its good news then they are spot on but if its anything else then its rubbish.......Its all correct that is reported or why say an individual said this or that....they would not last long as swans reporters if they were telling lies would they....of course they wouldn't they would be sued to hell.....If they print anything that is said by anyone of the players, manager, chairman in public local paper then they said it....you may not like it but that is what has been told to the reporters......If they printed anything other than what was told to them the EP would not last long as a popular local paper who supports the club 100%
Dai - the Evening Post, like any other newspaper, publish stories that sell newspapers! Whether it is truth or fiction has no bearing on what they publish! The press has no interest in the truth, just attention grabbing headlines! They WILL push the boundaries if it means they sell more newspapers and provocative headlines help them do this! If they lie then of course they leave themselves open to litigation, but it is crass in the extreme if you believe that everything they publish is objective! As I have said before, the EP is a little paper who have to feed on the scraps from bigger and better media giants! Don't believe all they publish - most of it is rubbish!
I'm not saying they are printing lies Dai, but lets face it the press are regularly forced to retract stories after being sued. But nonetheless it's their interpretation of what laudrup said and what he means. You don't appear to want to listen to the man himself though! Also I'll tell you something else his weekly press calls during the season are often taken out of context as well. If you signed into swans player you can watch the interview then predict what the papers will write for the next week
Jesus dai this is agonising to watch. There is no evidence to support that laudrup physically said I will stay providing they give me the funds. You are misreading it. Read the article again, it has all the quotes to what he exactly said, that is just what they added themselves.
The EP is the largest selling newspaper in wales, it cant sell many more if it tried.. where is your evidence that he did not make them comments....I believe he did if its stated he did or someone is in big trouble as a swans reporter if its lies..
Christ I'm losing the will to live here, Dai all their quotes come from the biggest media company in the UK. The report from Sky is paraphrased by the Post, they say word for word what Laudrup said. Then they add their own spin to it, and that is how newspapers get their reports for the most part.
Dai your own link shows he doesn't say it. Like I said, read it again. It has exactly what he says in quotes, then their take on it in normal writing. I don't know how to break it down for you any further.
