Southampton would be a good fit for Laudrup playing-wise. He brought Davies through, which they'll like (as they have a focus on their academy). They're used to a foreign manager and they're probably looking and reducing costs - although the chairperson might be wary of him as he has a track-record of conflict with the board.

It appears that Celtic have asked for permission to speak with Roy Keane. (didnt he fail there once before)

there is no money in Scottish football anymore to get any big manager excited about taking over. If they just want to walk the league and enter the European games then its worth taking on but as for excitement and playing in the league then there is nothing to get excited about or a challenge to test themselves...

He's the hot favorite with the bookies. Laudrup has no chance of getting the job.

Hi guys, Celtic supporter here - in peace. This is the best Swansea forum I could find - the others were a bit mental in their organisation.

With Michael Laudrup a contender for the new Celtic managerial role (although we have absolutely no idea who it will be in the end), I thought I'd ask supporters what they think of Michael?

Is he a good manager, good man manager? Does he train well, what is his style?

Lots of rumours flying about that he takes too many holiday's and pissed off for a get away, when you were going through a rough patch.

Anyway, thanks for having me and thanks for the replies.

This forum isn't just mental in terms of organization. It's mental all over! You'll find as many different opinions as posters: Laudrup will bring Celtic to new heights or bring the bubonic plague.
For sure Laudrup will bring change, fresh ideas and attractive football.
Don't think he's likely to be manager of Celtic now: Wieghorst has, of yesterday, been made manager of Danish club, recently relegated, AGF that I suppose he'll reshape from top to bottom. Personally I don't understand Wieghorsts priorities, but he's his own man...

    Oh god not again. <doh>

Sorry mate but this will reignite an argument that's been done to death here and you'll get all sorts of opinions, with some saying he should never have been sacked , and one individual actually thinking he was the devil incarnate. Don't take any notice of that one. <laugh>

I think the mainstream opinion here seems to be that Laudrup followed the pattern of his earlier clubs. An excellent first season with some really good signings at a knockdown price followed by a downward slide and reported arguments with the Board. Yes, he had injury problems but his stats after winning the Cup are not impressive and even his supporters agree on that. I actually wasn't happy to see him go but can understand why it happened. I think most would agree the way it was handled by the Club was shoddy and amateurish.

So his pattern here was almost the same as his previous cubs and he has to turn that around at his next club orr he'll garner even more of a reputation.

    Hope that helps. <ok>

Get ready for the incoming <laugh>

Anyway Celticlad, welcome to the forum.

Isn't Roy Keane the clubs favourite to land the job?

I suppose, Laudrup sure as hell isn't, anymore. But then you know my appalling betting skills...

You never know Mikra, I won't be surprised if Keane stays with Ireland and learn under MON for another year or so, not to mention he's probably earning a bomb doing the CL and internationals on ITV over here.

Either that or because Routledges finest football came out his opportunity given by Laudrup . One of the biggest confidence boosts I've seen a player get from a manager , Routs wont forget that .

I wish we didnt have to waste 3 million paying Laudrup off , but this is another season and time to move on . So far we picked up a good keeper on the free and no transfer notices passed in yet so I'm nervously happy... fingers crossed !
