    From the YEP:

"The agreement with Drury is a possible indication of other developments behind the scenes at Elland Road as talks continue over a potential takeover deal.

Warnock’s summer transfer strategy was frustrated last month by financial constraints but a redoubling of his efforts following the end of his summer holiday has fuelled the suggestion that Leeds are close to securing major investment.

The Championship club have refrained from expanding on the statement issued by them on May 29, a statement which confirmed that negotiations had begun “regarding investment for the long-term”, but the YEP has been told that talks are at a “delicate” but advanced stage and edging towards a conclusion."

A lot of people keep saying that all will be revealed on July the 1st...

So it might be worth leaving the speculation until Monday the 2nd July
Coincidently just after the Euro's have finished, so plenty to keep the English fans occupied... <whistle>

The delicate stage being it is getting close to the time when the new investor has to actually hand over some cash.
In our case, the only stage were interested in

NO TAKEOVER - ok, so not the news we want but it is going to be investment for a minority share. Two parties engaged, but no big bucks buyout. The figure to buy Leeds is too high for potential investors unless a billionaire wanted to buy the club, and if this was the case it would have been done by now.

There is no consortium in Leeds who can raise the required cash to buy Bates out, figures thrown about range from £30m to £90m and that money isn't freely available. Bates will take investment to get Leeds to the Prem this coming season, and then he will sell remaining shares and go. Leeds will attract serious money once we are in the Prem, investors don't want to gamble now. There it is, let's hope he at least gets investment in and Colin can sign some quality, we get to Prem and Bates goes.

They wouldn't have taken this long doing due diligence if it were just an investment. The very fact they're at this stage shows that a concrete fee has been agreed. No sane businessman will work under Bates after the Matthew Harding affair. Sorry, but your 'Tv presenter mate' is leading you on a merry chase, BS.

LOL...you guys are so funny. I have always said there were people who wanted to buy Bates out but he wanted to get to Prem with other peoples' money. I have no info on due dilligence for a full blown takeover agreed, only that Bates will agree to a minority share for cash, which is what he always wanted. I have also been told that whatever cash comes in we mustn't expect all of it to go towards the squad. Looking at the two Bosmans we've just signed, well it seems to back up this info. Why would we sign these frees if a buyout was in place with megabucks coming in? The truth is some "investors" did approach Leeds, but to try and get the club on the cheap. What were their intentions? Would they have been good for us? Well, if they can't walk in with enough to buy Bates out and give Colin £20m then do we want them? I still think a super rich owner will come along when we get to the Prem.
