To be honest how many other clubs are signing lots of players right now !!, we have made one good signing so far, I think that puts us ahead of quite a few other clubs.

I fail to understand why an 80 year old who is mostly hated by the fans would turn down any kind of financial offer? Let's pull the suggested £80 million figure out of the air, he isn't young enough to enjoy that amount, it will be left to his family and I dare say with whatever else he has stashed the Bates family will remain very rich for generations to come.

This is such a no brainer, my head hurts trying to figure it all out.

Another outcome - Bates refuses to sell, Warnock walks and YES I do fear a relegation battle, we haven't even a team once Snoddy, White and McCormack leave so say we do get relegated, we are even more worthless to an investor in Div 1. Say we manage to hang in and survive with another mid table finish, Bates is another year older, what has he to gain, absolutely nothing.

    - So with the threat of White, McCormack and Snoddy leaving and with us releasing several players and signing ONE you think we are ahead of clubs?????!!!

Promotion is key to Bates selling for a premium price, why would he sell it now?

Face it, he wants someone to fund our promotion so he can sell it to them (or someone else) for 3 times what it is worth now...

We must sour the milk & make sure that he can not make any more cheap profits from us Moron's...

Last two seasons January arrives and we are there or there abouts, no investment, no final push, Bates has been around long enough to understand that is what is required and instead he ignores it, like I said before he is too old to spend the money anyway... What difference is £50 million £80 million or £120 million to a bloke already living the high life and who is 80 years old.

Promotion is the only pipe dream that Bates can dangle in front of potential purchasers. Without those purchasers, we are only going downwards.

If we do not sell in these negotiations, I don't think Bates will last out the season, as long as Leeds fans stay away. Do thast, and Bates will be looking for a buyer at less than a third the price he is currently holding out for.

Firstly, no truth in Lorimer resigning, although it would be awesome if he did. Bates is busy ****ing up the talks because he wants to keep control. Trying to get info on the Warnock rumour, but as its the Mirror its probably nonsense.

*UPDATE* Warnock to speak with investors about budgets, I don't know if its about what Colin wants or what will be available. Last chance saloon for Bates, he is required to sell up completely or deal is off. Has been talk of investors taking a minority share to start with and then gradually buying Bates out, but Bates gone is still number one prize. I ****ing hate how all this is dragging on!! Bates clearly being pressed hard, very strange that he's said **** all so far, and Harvey has become the invisible man. Only one available is Lorimer but that's because he is in the dark.

Lorimer may be going after all - seems he didn't fulfil his role as a legend, instead alienating fans on a widespread basis. Please just get on with it and let Leeds United move on!!

Unless the deal has gone through I can't possibly see investors meeting with Warnock - I think someone is feeding you porkies.

BS - are you getting all of this from Twitter rumours? First you say one thing, then a few hours later you say the opposite. What exactly is the point, other than you are scrabbling around in the dark like the rest of us yet you claim to have some kind of inside track.

We all know there are talks going on. And we all know that - just before it is all announced - someone will tell us all what is about to be announced, and then it will be announced and the answer will be:

    a) Bates has sold up
    b) Bates has not sold up
    c) Bates has taken on a minority partner

    It's one of three.

And you seem to hedge your bets in each posting around each of the three.

No more please, I can get all that from twitter.

Lol Elmo - in fact if you look at my info the common thread is investors want the lot, Bates wants to stay. That's it. Warnock speaking with investors makes perfect sense, who knows, maybe Colin can be used to ratchet up the pressure on Bates. If Bates stays and Warnock goes, Leeds will be well and truly knackered. None of the contract rebels will sign, and promotion will be nothing but a pipe dream. This will hurt Bates more than selling up. I just wish he would see there is no place for him at Leeds anymore, and sign the deal so we can all move on. It's on the table, he is just being stubborn. Maybe Warnock is the key.

Sorry Billy I just can't believe for a second investors would talk to Warnock about Budgets prior to agreeing and signing a takeover.

Another day of my life I won't get back......... checking on here to see whats going on. Absolutely F. All! At least the Euros are on to take my mind off this non event.

I suppose everyone gets a bit cantankerous with old age, but Bates isn't seeing sense. The points above point out that this is the best time for him to sell.

I just pray these new investors manage to find some kind of leverage to prize him out of his seat. $$$$$$$$$

I got bored of takeover rumours about a week and a half ago when it all turned into the same **** getting regurgitated. As soon as it started with "there's an announcement later today" followed by silence, I got sick of it. I'll care when it's happened. Until then, Euros.

Funnily enough Marko, that's exactly where I got to.

As long as there is silence, there continues to be the possibility. The delay could be for a myriad of reasons.

As long as there is a lack of progress, we know that LUFC is merely continuing the traits to which we have all become accustomed.

Sit back, calm down, watch the euros, and be patient. Worst case scenario - Bates will leave soon because the Leeds fans have had enough and are not parting with their money.
