I severely doubt we will see the start of the next season either. Big big problems ahead for a lot of people
OK was hoping to come on and see someone had explained what exactly is going to happen in 3 weeks that the PL set such a random date. 3 weeks ffs
Looks like season is over if true.... https://www.express.co.uk/sport/foo...verpool-Greg-Clarke-UEFA-coronavirus-COVID-19
I don't see how they can just void a two thirds completed season. Wouldn't it be best to have a coronavirus break and then have pre-end of season training once it is safe to do so and then complete the season. This may mean that the next season will start very late but eventually they will catch up. Any relegation/promotion issues, etc. will need to be resolved as normal otherwise there will be an incredible effect on the integrity of the competitions.
How can you relegate a team with games left, they could be on a win streak, the season will have to be voided, no other way around it
Players contracts end at the end of June and your club has plenty who’s contracts expire this year. Loan moves generally expire at the end of May, you’ve got some of those as well. So it matters.....a lot.
Nothing to stop teams adding a 3month extension to player contracts. However PL would have to add a clause that out of contract players could not change clubs until season finished and delay transfer window in same way.
Taken off the Spurs board Teams that missed out on Europe due to Pool’s ban Everton Manchester United Tottenham Hotspur Southampton West Ham Sheffield Wednesday Oxford United Coventry City Arsenal Norwich Wimbledon Nottingham Forest Luton Town Derby County There was no compensation, no nothings..scrapped and tough titties for all those missing out for the next 5 years. Life isn’t fair but that’s life
Yes there is. Player choice and employment law. As many of those players will have new contracts lined up with different clubs by the end of June.
What if a player wants to move, you cant stop him. you cant retroactively change the rules, without being legal action. As Tobes comment above
You are not retroactively changing the rules. You are changing them for the future. Its exactly how rule changes work.
You can’t force players to extend their contracts on a short term basis in order to suit some contrived proposed solution to this issue, so it’s nothing to do with football rules, as employment law supersedes.
That Everton team would have won the European cup in my opinion. They'd just won the league and CWC and only United stopped a decent treble. It's no surprise to me that Everton fookin hate Liverpool, this is always overlooked.
