Obviously there are a few of ours. Ned has played a lot at RB and CB and has MOM at both positions. Perch plays RB and LB and many aren't sure where he's best, he's also played CB and defensive midfield at his previous Clubs I believe. Washington came as a striker but has done better with us wide left. Luongo plays both defensive and attacking central midfield pretty well, more forward for his Country apparently. Chery plays central midfield where he has been most effective, but does well wide. Cousins is supposed to be best in central midfield but he's done a job wide right. Both Niemalainan and Kakay play more than one position I hear. Young players are learning to play different roles, train in different roles, and are often comfortable in more than one position when they reach their prime. More so than before I think.

Oslo, I am not a linguist, but to correctly prononounce Paweł's name in English, I propose "w-shaw-weck".

I know that I have described it as three syllables and it only has two, but that is the closest I can think of with English pronunciation :)

The next games look tough and will be a real challenge.

If we only get a couple of points from the next three games (this a total run of 5 games) then we will further slide down the table and the pressure will really be on.

Let's see what will happen. We may ve pleasantly surprised?

A lot of players play in different positions but the results and performances tell us that they are not any good at it. I'd be happy if we had 11 fit players who could turn in consistent semi decent performances in 1 position each.

Cousins appears to be this year's Mutch.

Everything is relative - 14th in the Championship is far far better than where I'd expect "not any good at it" players to be. 14th is about where I'd expect the current players to be, low mid-table.

Defeats are to be expected in this league. Every team loses when you have to play 46 League Games.

Fans are more forgiving however when you lose but your team has given everything and we can identify with a style which we've adopted.

A fundamental which we seem to get wrong time and time again is this topic of identity and formation. Throughout my time as a QPR supporter, we've experienced some success being a team who's played 4-4-1-1, with the focus on talented wide players and a Number 10 who could provide the cutting edge in the final third.

With this in mind, you recruit players and build your squad based on playing 2 formations, one which you use as your basis, and the other which you use as your plan B to react to adversity in certain games.

Granted, you have an expectation of players playing more than one position, but not unless you absolutely forced to. We still haven't recruited a genuine RB to replace Danny Simpson! Its astonishing really.

You obviously don't go to the games Ossie, if you did you'd see what a shambles it really is. I can't see us getting much out of the next three matches and if that turns out to be the case we'll be in a relegation battle by the end of the month.

I think we are already in a relegation battle. There are a few teams below us that are probably going to end up comfortably mid table or better.

I've just reread my previous response to you Ossie and it didn't read very well. When I said 'you obviously don't go to the games' I meant due to your geographical location as opposed to it sounding like an accusation. My apologies.

This is something that goes higher up in the club. For several seasons now we haven't had enough players (not to mention quality) for our essential positions. Essential positions meaning positions that are available in every game. We tend to change the attacking positions frequently. But in every game over the last 5 seasons we have used a RB and LB throughout those seasons, in virtually every game.

What excuse is there, at any moment, regardless of what point it is in the season, to have less than two RBs and two LBs?

I don't at all mind Perch being in our squad. He's not perfect but he can put a shift in if he knows what he's doing. Bidwell is rather unimpressive but he can do a bare minimum job. So, where is the other dedicated LB or RB? You can't depend on one player of each of those positions. It's madness and is something that hasn't been corrected over several seasons. You can only blame the club.

Anyway, our current struggles are down to the club not making the right preparations along with the fact that we have a manager who simply doesn't have the knowhow to compete at this level, with our current crop of players.

And our squad is, by no means, weak. We have a squad that some clubs would love to get their hands on. Not perfect but the squad is something to be worked on and used for some success. JFH has, of course, inherited some problems. But he should be ironing out those issues and dealing with it. He is not doing that. He is struggling at a task that many other managers out there could do.

So, two things need to be fixed. One, we need a manager who can cope and bring about the success we're capable of. Two, we need the club to address simple issues that have become and consistent fixture at the club, i.e. inadequate players for the positions available, the seeking of experienced management and staff.

We've gotten a lot of things right, finally, in recent times. But someone of the big, glaring issues have still not been dealt with. For example, how long did it take for the club to deliver a good kit that the fans were happy with?

My statement was in regards to Qpr, not Newcastle.

    As you well know.

    In one word "no".

Even if there were, we would probably loose them!

    Really interesting reading through this with lots of mixed opinions...problem with recruiting the right players, or problem with misuse of the players we've got. Another possibility could be a problem in expectation. As Oslo quite rightly pointed out;

I agree completely with that, which suggests that the current feeling of disappointment is wider than just with our current position. It is hard for me, and many others to be excited about what is going on when we were promised so much, and none of it is delivered. Champions League football within five years was the first one (albeit by Flavio and Bernie, who were bad owners) but it sparked hope, and that hope won't just disappear. We were then promised a brand new stadium just down the road from Loftus Road, and a few years on that looks more and more unlikely as objection after objection is thrown forward. Star players have arrived, under-performed, and left. Those who have performed well have been snapped up by better run clubs. Currently I just find it all so disappointing. All that said, Oslo is spot on, the table doesn't lie, and we are where we should be.

In other news, Utrecht is a beautiful place to spend a weekend, highly recommend it.
