@TheSharpeEnd: It has taken #lcfc eight games to reach 15 points. It's October 3. It took them 21 games to reach that last season. Not until January 10. Ranieri out!
While yes Ranieri does deserve credit but Kasper Schmeichel and even Ranieri himself have said NP deserves alot of credit for how this season has gone I dont see the point in comparing NP to Ranieri anymore. NP goes into the history books as one of the best Leicester managers Ranieri is here and now and its early days down what appears to be a very bright road
Absolutely It's the here and now that is important and all that matters Pearson who. Ranieri is the man now and what a job he is doing........so far
That's incredible to think how bad we were at times last season. That said, our recent form isn't nearly as impressive as it was at the end of last season. Next game at Southampton will be a big one, two teams in form up against one another, and we were well and truly outclassed during our last trip there.
Care to tell me where I've mentioned or compared Nigel Pearson to Ranieri? I've copied and pasted a tweet from James Sharpe (A journalist who works for the Mercury) - Serious question if NP goes to Sunderland will you switch allegiance and support them?
I'm fairness Nigel Pearson does make the top 10 in terms of managers in my lifetime as a supporter for what ha has achieved, the style of football and tactical ability ... Behind Matt Gilles, Jimmy Bloomfield, Martin O'Neil and Gordon Milne .. but around the same place as Jock Wallace and Frank O'Farell .. above Mickey Adams ... as for the rest ...let's not go there ... as to last seasons end being better than this so far? ... not for me . but each to his own ...
Sorry, I meant performances. That April run was, in my opinion, much more impressive. Scoring goals and keeping them out. Sure, I'm enjoying it a hell of a lot now but it is also pretty terrifying at times!
Ahh gotcha I'd tend to agree with you certainly given the pressure that we HAD to keep winning at the end of last season
I can see the merit in such a view - certainly any lapses and we would have gone down ... but I also think that there is merit in a view that getting a good start is tougher... every team should be fully fit and 'up for it' .. this is the time that newly promoted sides especially can play above themselves .. because they are not yet resigned to the 'certain demise ' that the Tabloids tend to predict
