Had my wedding there up the Empire State Building, and we had the reception in a restaurant at the foot of the building there called the Heartlands Brewery, they charged $30 a head for the meal but for an $10 a head you get a free bar for 2 hours. At the time it was $2 to the £1. They couldn't work out why we were all drinking so fast.

Yep and I done a pub crawl (restaurant bar things) on 6th Avenue. My Mrs loves shopping but all she bought in the week there was a eyeliner. Drinking Coors light all the time it was great.
Could imagine it will be expensive. I'll have to mail mike about what prices are like in Canada. Hopefully not to bad. Though I did look at prices for the hockey game. $47-$135 about what the same you would pay here for prem football. Must admit I don't think I've ever watched a minute of hockey, Anyone know long it goes on for?
