Rotherham United footballer David Noble has pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily harm after a "fracas" at a Bristol nightclub. At Bristol Crown Court, the midfielder admitted being involved in a fight at the Java club on 18 March. At Wednesday's hearing, the 30-year-old was granted bail and was told he would be sentenced on 31 October. He joined Rotherham in July after spells with Bristol City and Exeter City. Noble pleaded not guilty to a charge of assault by beating and the plea was accepted by the prosecution. Rotherham United manager Steve Evans said: "He's found himself in a situation where he's had to plead guilty to assaulting another guy in a fracas involving three or four people. "It's not good but we were aware of this and the football club will support David through this."
