You only have to look at the respective corners to see who was winning the fight Freddie Roach on a number of times said "you are falling behind with others saying your losing it Manny" just before the result Pacquaio and his corner all knew he had lost while in comparison Marquez and his corner where all celebrating. Based on Bob Arums reaction and the scorecards im convinced that the fight was fixed, Marquez was so dominant throughout the fight that there can be no other explanation
Punches that land are the ones that count, and throwing lots of punchers, even if they miss is seen as aggression, vegas judges like that. Marquez did a lot more body work, maybe the judges over looked that.
the judge that gave it 116-112 to pac gave him the first 3 rounds..i agree with the first round but he barely threw anything in R 2 and 3
How is Khan anti-Pacquaio there good friends and stable mates, you clearly donât have a clue Steve Bunce and the rest of the boxing experts called it a robbery and they actually know something about boxing.
I agree he was beaten to the punch by Marquez round 3 was very clear even Khan was saying how Marquez was winning
i really cant think of that much good work pac did, for all the stuff that he threw. there's a huge amount of shock and disbelief about the outcome..and i dont think that would be the case had the fight even been remotely close. the first fight could have gone either way. the 2nd one i think marquez nicked it. 3rd isnt even open to debate though. as alt said, look the body language of both pac and his team. he was told numerous times by roach that hes falling behind and he needs a ko to win
Spot on the corner painted a perfect picture of who was the real victor last night, Khan was commentating for the fight and he said that Marquez won it. the debate on aggression and shots landed are flawed, Marquez landed the cleaner punches throughout and its highly debatable whether Pacquaio was more aggressive considering he barley landed any real power shots, Marquez was circling him and punishing him with counters that does not mean he is less aggressive.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mo7TIAW9PeY Watch the 3rd with the sound off. Sound is very poor in this clip anway.
Having just seen the end of the fight there you can tell from Pacman's body language at the final bell that he knew he had lost that fight.
I still think round 3 is Marquez's round Pacquaio was missing alot of those punches while Marquez landed his
I think the Pacman looked bad on purpose so Mayweather will have the courage to fight him. Money will fancy his chances on that performance - it will lure him out.
Best punch of the round was Pacquiao's right hook in the last 10 seconds. Marquez did not land many meaningful shots Pacquiao the busier throwing more landing more.
Nothing new. See Khan vs McCloskey Not saying McCloskey would have won but it was clear the fight wasn't the breezey stepping stone Khan and his promoters thought. However there has been too much money put into Khan, and too much potential lost earnings for too many people should Khan slip up in the fight for him to be allowed to lose, or should I say for McCloskey be allowed to win. They took the first and cheapest way of getting the fight stopped in Khans favour. Truely disgusting and another demonstration of the farce boxing has become
Yeah funny how when McCloskey was beginning to get into the fight more its stopped, this is the problem with boxing right now its becoming political with fighters ducking and dodging each other for easier fights and the number of crazy decisions seem to be on the rise and when you add the growing number of belts it starts to get ridicules, i think boxing is becoming more corrupt which is a real shame as people are now turning to sports like the UFC and MMA. Not that I have any problems with the UFC but boxing is my favourite sport alongside football and it decisions like this that’s damaging the sport
I generally love martial arts. always have done but boxing is for me the most entertaining spectator sport Its been shoit for a while though because of things already mentioned. no characters I watched the Jones and Rampage UFC fight and gotta be honest it was crap just doesnt do it for me tbh. shame really as if you go to some of the other martial arts competitions (even the semi contact ones) they are really good
As I said, McCloskey probably wouldnt have won but Khan doubtless found it a far more difficult affair than he had invisaged and McCloskey had him worried a few times. Still the fact the gulf in class was not so great despite the huge comparative differences in funding with regards to trainers, specialist nutrition and fitness coaches etc.. is a sad enough reflection of Khan's true ability
