    I have no proof personally and dont care enough to research, but my feeling is that Moyes wasnt their first choice, it would display a huge lack of ambition if he was, he was no where near the most qualified....just the most convenient and the guy most likely to say yes as the job was a huge upgrade both in stature and pay, to the one he held at Everton.

    Utd are not going to come out and undermine Moyes by saying "Yeah we tried 3 or 4 other guys before we settled for this cnut!", and likewise with the other managers whom they approached about the job (if any) it would be considered extremely unprofessional to come out and say they were offered the role first.
    Anyway, why are we still talking about this? Its getting boring.

    I don't think Moyes could give a flying **** whether he was first or tenth choice to be honest. He is in the job as manager of the greatest club in the country. It is like Ed Miiliband being unhappy he was not first choice of the party. Is he heck? he is bloody happy he got the job in the end... :)

    Boring but the hours go a bit faster ... :)

    To be fair, United have never been able to attract the best players from abroad so why should it be any different with managers?

    They are best at bullying clubs like Spurs and Everton into giving over their best assets.

    Thank goodness that you have now admitted that I was right in saying that in the final analysis after due consideration Mourinho would not have been offered the job.. :)

    Keep watching the interviews, Jose is an honest man and if someone asks him again about the United job he will repeat what he has already stated (not what some journalist "believes") <ok>

    That may be one of the interviews i have refered to (there are so many with Jose i lose track), did the interviewer ask straight afterwards "were you offered the job and Jose replied with one word "no"?
