Last chance saloon!!

Jozy's days are numbered with the arrival of Scocco who will be above him now in the pecking order. He can only have himself to blame with only 1 goal in the league this season. Fletcher too will be under pressure from Scocco.

With players in support Altidore contributed effectively - left with two markers suffered. Same for Fletch, without a strike partner both of them are in the isolation ward.

Altidore was battered by the Stoke defenders tonight and he took it all, he worked very hard but the class isn't there.
I thought it was a master stroke by Gus to play him because he's strong and can take all that punishment , if Fletcher had played the full game he would have ended up injured, and Whickham just isn't strong enough, he's big enough but hasn't got the strength to cut it in the PL.
I think we might see Fletcher and Borini up front against the mags on Saturday, hope so anyway.

altidore is not a goalscorer - we all know this. he does a job though, so why all the abuse? he soaks up pressure, holds the ball, and occupies defenders; it'd be great if he could score twenty a season and had a magic touch as well, but then he'd be didier drogba, and cost £30m.

if we were in a more comfortable position, we'd see two up front more and he'd either be scoring goals or making them; at the moment he's doing a job for a team in need.

Gus is the man to trust and will keep us up, no problem, why did I query his team selection???In hindsight,Stoke had come-out with some crap in their local-rag,and Gus must have thought that it may have unsettled our lads. What a class act GP is!!

You couldn't fault Altidore's efforts tonight, but he desperately needs a goal to boost his confidence...I wouldn't mind him getting the winner on Saturday mind..

I read that Connor's only been brought back to be part of a deal for Bridcutt, in which case there's no way he would have played.

Fingers crossed that Jozy goes out on loan before Friday night.
