Refs are the problem. They won't give anything unless a player goes to ground. Whether it be a smack to the face or a bad challenge. Don't be a twat like Carroll or Suarez and you may get away with it. Perhaps (and I am not being inflammatory here) Larsson's reputation precedes him? He has done a few careless dives in the past and a certain handball :bandit:. I will admit Guti does over play his fouls BUT they are fouls to begin with. I do not think he dives over thin air.

I think Larsson is a great player and I'm always happy to see him in the starting line up. In this day and age I think diving and acting is spoiling a fair game and Larsson is good enough of a player not to need to be theatrical.

If the challenge is late and contact is there then accentuating the foul is ok otherwise, chances are, you won't get the foul. Diving when there is no contact is ruining the game though. If Larsson's was the former, then I will defend him.

    Spot on mate.

For me, he should have whipped the ball out wide early we had an opportunity.

He's better than that, your absolutely right.

So will Danny Simpson gain the reputation for handball or is that different as he plays for you?

There was as much contact with Larsson as there was with Dzeko last week so where does it even out?
BTW i think he dived. minimal contact but no different to Gareth Bale 2 or 3 times. i don't mind the punishment but it has to be the same for every side and it blatantly isn't

Quite likely. If I was a ref I would watch out for instances of handball. I am not as bias as you may think.

The fault lies with FIFA and their attempts to make it a non contact sport.

I think Guiterrez dives more than any other player in the league. I just wish refs would cotton on to this guy. Even watched it with a mag friend of mine (another pretend geordie from horden) and we say in unison when guiterrez gets ball , 'Dive free kick to newcastle'.

To be fair, he is not as bad as Mr Cattermole who has a habit of collecting red cards like they going out of fashion. Although he needs to learn to tackle properly without going in so recklessly! He has done a few very bad/rash tackles and I am happy to admit that.

<laugh> Billy this is why I love you (no homo). Your rage posts are simply the best! The Leeds match was a horror. It was a blight on the English game.

Sorry mate but I must disagree..That is exactly what larrson done today, and it is bloody cheating: end of story...My main gripe is that Larrson rightly got booked for this, but Newcastle players get away with the same thing umpteen times every bloody game...

Fair play mate. Although apart from Guti, none of our players over act umpteen times.

You said regularly (well umpteen times) and Tiote does not have a habit of going down easily. Sure he went down easy to highlight a Sess elbow however Sess deserved to be sent off for that. If the roles had been reversed, I know you would have been pissed off if Tiote had not been sent off/Sess had made it clear he had been hit. Intent is everything (Reina vs Perch highlights this too seeing as Lolerpoo did not contest it)

Most Premier League players are guilty of it since it was introduced into our game by the likes of Klinsmann and Ginola because they were getting away with it.
I think that if we seriously want to stamp it out then we should look at deducting points for any team that has players booked for diving consistently.
