Chelsea have a strong academy system, but let a lot of the lads go cheaply because they don't make the grade at first team level. They are under huge pressure to perform and win, so a lot of youths don't get the chances they deserve at first team level. It is the same for any team with a strong group of youth players. My team, Southampton, did the same under Redknapp. He didn't believe in blooding the youth and to prove his point, put them all in one cup game and lost. Other than the exceptional Walcott, most of that group are now playing Championship or mid-lower end Premier League football (Lallana, Mills, Cranie, Surman, Dyer, Best, McGoldrick, Blackstock, Jones). Other than Lallana who is still here, we put up very little resistance to them leaving, although Surman probably would have stayed had we not been in administration. The point is that good players move on if they don't fancy their chances (or in our case because the club was a mess before Liebherr and Cortese came in).
Don't rate Henri dosnt suit our type of play and couldn't get in the Norwich team towards the end of Last season!
