He was the top cheat in a sport reknowned for it's chemical cheating. His apology is not enough, his contrition is non-existent. He also wishes to compete again!????? Erm, NO is the short answer. What sport could possibly wish to sully itself by associating with this drug cheat? The 'death penalty'? Sporting wise it absolutely has to be so in his case, the crime is just too big, went on too long, lied too much and even now has almost certainly been economical with the truth.
Well strike them all from the record books too, but without evidence you can't tell who was doing it and who wasn't. There is evidence against LA that he has cheated, defrauded and ruined the reputation of cycling and everyone involved in cycling. Just because others were doing it too doesn't make it right. As for inspiring people, he doesn't inspire me. I just think he dropped a bollock.
