Doping is dangerous, many die or end up ****ed up like Sean Yates. http://www.sportsonearth.com/article/39997062/
If you can remember the tour in the 80's you wern't there That is a pretty sad and depressing artical which never really makes the mainstream here, I think the only time I have seen any thing about doping going wrong was when the Italian lad Basso I think gave him self a transfusion with bad blood and had kidney troubles.
Ivan Basso? He got a two year ban and won the Giro for a second time on his return. Riccardo Riccò? A very stupid doper who now serving a 12 year ban.
Most Europeans wouldn't see that as an either or choice but then you are what you are. I can't be deported, btw. I'm a citizen
Average speeds are dropping off hugely in the Tour just read Tyler Hamiltons book. You can see on paper that in the late 90s early 00s the average speed topped 40kph for the first time in history and now they are dropping again indicating clean rides. Also before they didnt have the blood passport. This has cut down doping hugely as it takes your average chemical levels in your blood so you can see over a period of time if something such as testosterone has risen for some unexplained reason. Whilst Armstrong was riding all the top riders were using EPO as there wasnt a test for it so all they had to do was keep their hematocrit (how much oxygen your blood can transport to put it simply) levels below a certain point and no suspicion would be raised. Sky said from the off that they are riding a clean team and if they werent committed to that why did they only recently cut a number of backroom staff for previously being involved in doping.
Olympic cycling is even stricter than tour cycling, I cant believe for a moment any of the prominent GB medal winners in the last 8 years of the games have been doping. With regard to Messi, he had a birth defect that any child in the first world would have had the same drugs to cure. Every single player playing the premier league has had the same drugs, only they had them naturally from their pituitary gland in their brain.
WHAT!!!! You really do live on a different planet, can you please tell me why you expect such a thing? Just because a book shop in Australia has moved its book for LA to the fiction section? I never defended him I was just pointing out in the interview he said that he raced clean in the last 2 tours he did, as he felt it was a fair playing field so with that cycling is not as doped up as many believe.
