Like a few ex-England players, Lampard has undeservedly been given some big jobs as a coach.
That’s not unusual in European football. Many managers get quite big gigs very early in their careers. Guardiola’s first job was Barcelona. Remember lampards first job was derby. Not sure you class it as a success, but look what’s happened to them since. I do think that lampard may have had some bad look with his clubs. But the jury is out and I’m not saying he is a good manager at all, just that he deserves another shot.

Irony is that the Lampard squad is the one that tipped them over the edge of FFP

You do realise that lampard won his first 2 games in charge of Everton. I think we should give a bit more than 1 game to judge a manager. Everton is a really tough gig at the moment and dyche could end up taking them down. It doesn’t make Dyche a bad manager, but I wouldn’t judge lampard too much on the Everton job to be honest. I think he deserves another shot, but maybe further down the league where he may get a bit more time.

He failed at Derby, failed at Chelsea and failed miserably at Everton, the man is decent, the manager in him is shyte

He’s been at 3 overspending poisoned chalices.

I do just have a gut feeling he could make a good manager but a lot of being a good manager is the players and all the staff at the club having belief and confidence in you, everyone is questioning his credentials now so whatever job he takes next will be much harder for him now and a proper uphill battle.

I agree. Gerrard at least had great success with Rangers with gave him a lot of cred as a coach. Despite failing at Villa, Gerrard could still get a decent Championship gig. I think Lampard would struggle to do the same now.
