I can't believe that people on this board (well one person actually, not you Hoadie) are so thick that they think it was a possibilty that it might happen. Everyone knows that it was a tongue in cheek remark by Martin as a throw away line to cause a bit of mirth, and how anyone could even think it is a remote possibilty is beyond me. When I put that he's no better than we already have,it obviously went over someones head that I was being ironic, because that is what Hess and Trigger have said in the past.

Nobody's taking this thread seriously. The forum has been quiet this week ( damn the team for not losing at home and giving us something to whinge about ).
However, wether or not you like Chelsea, it's probably only fitting to talk about the qualities of a ( still ) very good midfielder.

My point was, is that someone is taking it seriously and seems to believe it. Take a look back through the messages and you'll see who I mean. The rest of us, are just having a bit of a banter about it

I know right, whats wrong with the man? I would quite happily take £2,000 a week and the captains armband. <laugh>

Footballers money is vastly in excess of what most of us earn, and they live a completely different life style that we could only dream of. Say hes on 120k a week. To go to 2k a week is about an 80 odd % decrease. Could any of us do that from our wages and maintain the same lifestyle ?
