My feelings on this will be unpopular, but I agree with the line taken by players like Scholes, Carrick, Robinson and Foster. Take Carrick for example, someone who has been a consistent starter in the country's best team for over 5 years, he's had game upon game of watching Gerrard and Lampard start in front of him for England, fair enough, but as soon as someone else is needed, its straight to another player as he gets bypassed. If it was me i'd certainly turn round and tell them to **** off, what a waste of time going and spending 3-4 weeks with the england squad away from friends and family only to not play when it's been made clear to you that you're not in the managers plans.

Scott Parker is also a doubt now according to SSN. :emoticon-0106-cryin No Wilshere, No Barry, No Lampard, No Parker possibly ? Call up Paul Scholes NOW. ffs. or maybe Thunderbirds 1 and 2. <whistle>

Doesn't help that there's two host nations and limited spots available.

I agree with what everyone else says about Carrick. The bloke needs to look at himself in the mirror. Geordie twat.

    Thats treason right there.

I absolutely detest Beckham and his publicity machine but i can never doubt he would jump at the chance to be in the squad knowing he wouldnt get a sniff of the first team barring ten broken legs.

Too right, Robinsons attitude in particular has been bang out with the goalie problems we've had, he would have got another chance, even Carson was playing not so long ago

I agree with this, I think the likes of Lampard, Cole and Terry get far too much undeserved criticism for their 'effort' in an England shirt even though they are our best players. But players like Carrick, Robinson and Foster who readily admit that they really can't be arsed with England because they won't play every game. FFS Rooney didn't become our best striker overnight, he was Owen's sidekick for a few years before becoming really good over a few years. Carrick should be in the squad now but he can't be arsed so **** him, give Henderson a chance if he actually wants to play for his country.

Especially when you consider the amount of injuries Enlgish players get playing in the PL. Nearly every England squad has a load of the best players missing, so these players would all get a chance and this tournament would be a great chance for them.

I never said there weren't any decent matches at the World Cup, which granted, is more prestigious.

But, the WC has to fulifll it's quotas of teams from around the world, so if the better teams from South America and Europe have a ****e qualifying session, they don't go. For example, the Dutch in 2002. I'd rather watch a dutch side anyday over a ****e team like Saudi Arabia, but FIFA wouldn't allow this. There's always the odd exception, ie South Korea and Senegal in 2002.

In the Euros, the teams are more equally matched.

My mistake, obviously when you said there are better matches in the Euro's I naturally thought you meant there are better matches in the Euro's. Which there arent.
