Could probably go in the transfer thread, but check this out.

    http://www1.skysports.com/transfer-centre/

"Big breaking transfer news regarding Liverpool's interest in Southampton and England midfielder Adam Lallana tonight on Sky Sports News..."

It's the breaking news headline on SSN.

    Thoughts?

Everyone rates him from what I've read

He cleaned up Southampton's awards, players player, fans player and goal of the season

His interview after he said "I want to grow at Southampton, a cub Ive been at since 11 yrs old (I think he said 11)

depends how much I suppose, I havent seen a lot of him

He has a foreign sounding surname which is a good start :emoticon-0102-bigsm

If true then good stuff,BR knows who he wants and is out to get him.

Wasn't there a rumour last week about this coming thru Ricky Lambert?

There rumours have been around for a while (and on the transfer thread)

This "news" is nothing though, they will just announce a rumour

Would welcome him. Guess he fits our principle of trying to sign young and English when it would work.

But if he does poorly his name can easily be turned into Lollana, Lallama, Lalalana etc.

Good player. Not as good as Sterling or Coutinho though. Could be a good signing and provide some depth for next year but hope we dont overspend as I can't see him being a starter unless Rodgers plans to play him in central midfield but I've never seen him play there

The lads got plenty of skill and a touch of arrogance to go with it - which I like. My only worry comes from the match at their place. He was all over us like a rash for the first part of the first half. He didn't score (should have) and they didn't score. After that he started arguing with his own players and slipped out of the game. I wonder if that is part of his character?

Why should you feel uncomfortable? It's always been that way since we signed St. John, Hunt, Thompson and Yates. Plus if he didn't think it was in his best interests he wouldn't come.

I'd happily pay 15mill for him, or there abouts, but there are players similar to him abroad for that price - so anything more would just be excessive and mostly for the fact that he's English. I could see him in midfield alongside Henderson; both mobile, both work hard and both have lots of energy and they can both string together some neat passes on the attack. Could be a nice tandem for the PL, but not exactly a midfield to dominate Europe...

Ok then, so there are players similar too him abroad at that price - name them? What experience do they have of the Premiership?.

It's not going to be our midfield that dominates Europe or England for that matter it's going to be the threat of our attack!
