Its not about going straight into the team. The additions will be whilst he is at Man Utd or for the duration of the contract he's signed. So, the only way you won't pay the etra's is if he majorly flops and you guys fail to win anything.
Both deals will definitely include add-ons as neither Liverpool nor Man Utd would have wanted to pay as much as they have. Just hope ours are optional
Definitely optional. We can opt to pay them and have the player- or not pay them and not have the player!
Hopefully the "leaked" info on signing Lallana was to get Barcelona to lower their price on dirty Sanchez.
If he'd delayed and gone in for a bit of brinkmanship then plenty on here would be saying we're always faffing about and never get the job done quickly.
True saint, we do our transfers by the book and that means we move to slowly in negotiations and ultimately miss out on the player, we should tap players up like Barca have with Suarez, they've decided the fee and his wages with his agent, shouldn't be long before they actually tell LFC.
Good player but doesn't really improve the first 11 in my opinion. I think sterling and Coutinho are better players . Our best midfield 3 are still coutinho, gerrard, henderson with sterling behind the strikers or wide in a front 3. Lallana is a good alternative if ones injured or to come off the bench when their tired but for 25 million I would expect top quality. Lallana is a good player but not a top quality player
I think Coutinho is a better AM than Lallana but with system we play and what is expected from the player in the B2B CM role it is much better suited for Lallana. Thats two CMs with big engines either side of Gerrard. Expect to see Coutinho play more games in the AM role behind the front two too.
Coutinho and Sterling rarely played in the same team as they both tended to play in that position behind the front 2. Lallana is more likely to be competing with Allen for that CM role alongside Henderson and then having Sterling/Coutinho ahead of that. Also, not aimed at you specifically, but does annoy me when people keep saying "oh he's not an improvement on what we currently have etc". Well I'd rather have him on the team and Allen on the bench than Allen in the team and Alberto/Moses on the bench. We've got 50off games this year... we're not going to play the same 11 players week in week out. Last year we all said we needed more squad depth and now people moan when we bring in more bodies who last year would have walked into our midfield.
Exactly. Lallana is a very good player. Forget the fee and look at what he will bring to us rather than Aspas
