Finally signed. (In principle). http://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/latest-news/reds-agree-aspas-deal-in-principle Thoughts?
Iago Aspas's shot accuracy last season would have put him second in the Barclays Premier League. please log in to view this image During the campaign he was directly involved in 51 per cent of his team's goals.
Despite never having seen him play, I have doubts. At 25, why is he only £7.7m if he is such a good Spanish player? (Michu at £2.5m makes it look expensive mind) And why as no one shown a interest? (I mean top clubs) As I said, they are doubts. They are not objections!
If top clubs did show an interest then he probably wouldn't be coming to us! We have to gamble on players from lesser leagues/clubs & hope they make the step up and become WC players because we don't have CL football or Man City sized wages to offer already made stars.
He's not world class and he's not a replacement for Suarez - but I do think he's a decent addition to the squad and someone we can call upon as opposed to Downing.
I haven't seen him play either but I will go off the general feeling of the members here that he is a good signing. Normally we'd get 'average player' - 'more midtable mediocrity' but the fact a lot of our fans are saying he's a very good player sells it to me.
We don't sign world class players, we turn them into world class players. I'm not worried, he'll be handy to have at a rain soaked KC Stadium/Selhurst Park and so on. Get behind the back line and roll it home.
So true. When was the last time we signed a world-class player? sure some look pretty good, but we're not Real, City or the CHavs who pay well over the odds for world class players whose value will only decrease
